I've decided to play Kingdom Hearts 2 on my PS3.
I've done it long time ago on my PS2 and I'm still fond of the serie ~ positive and relaxing with hot organization XIII members
It looks like 2016 is my Square Enix year after "Life is Strange", "Murdered:soul suspect" and the upcoming "FF15" and "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" ("NieR" is for 2017)
I have an increasingly bitter relationship with Kingdom Hearts.
It is still a series I have huge amounts of rose tinted nostalgia for, they were the games I grew up with, much like the Harry Potter books were the books I grew up with.
KH1, KH2 and Birth By Sleep are in their own way brilliant games, that taps into my nostalgia fuelled love for Disney, as well as get me emotionally invested in the characters and story, no matter how convoluted things get.
But I suppose at this moment in time, its the convoluted narrative, the sheer number of characters that I believe need their proper character arc resolutions, and the requirement to tie up every other dangling plot thread in Kingdom Hearts 3 that has me worried it just won't be able to fulfill all that.
There's also the possibility that there will be new characters to take away much needed time on other characters, and the fact that I have been waiting for Kingdom Hearts 3 specifically for 10+ years, overall the series is one I'm struggling to engage with as much as I used to.
The promise of playing as Aqua again though is what is drawing me to 2.8, and the hope we may get some allusions as to how she'll be implemented in KH3. Aqua is probably one of the characters high on my list who I want to see get proper screen time and a resolution to the arc she started in Birth by Sleep.
