I am just asking for my friend but plz help him anyway

 

what 4 abilities should archer put?

 

and can u guys make a list like: 

Level 2: Peaceful Aura
Level 3: Winter Stillness
Level 4: Guardian Spirit
Level 5: Barrier
Level 6: Elegant Defense (could be delayed or not taken)
Level 7: Gathering Storm (could be delayed)
Level 8: Conductive Current
Level 9: Flashpoint
Level 10: Clean Burn
Level 11: Pyromancer
Level 12: Death Siphon
Level 13: Firestorm
Level 14: Wall of Fire
Level 15: Lightning Bolt
Level 16: Static Charge
Level 17: Lasting Flames (could take this before lightning bolt)
Level 18: Ability of choice, Ability Upgrade or Passive
Level 19: Ability of choice, Ability Upgrade or Passive

 

but a archer's version??

The 2 highlighted passives I can't live without. Strafing shots is excellent at avoiding some incoming projectiles. Leaping shot (boss killer) and Spike trap (will let Drasca explain that one, because I got the idea from his Hunter video). Skills you choose to use and find most effective are subjective. Have fun exploring  :D

I run with:

Leap shot

Explosive shot

Spike trap

Evade (purely for the purpose of closing up to enemies after leap shot)

 

And don't forget to take opportunity knocks, pincushion and stamina regen passives. Leap shot and spike traps are must takes but really everything else is optional. 

 

How to play: leap evade leap evade leap evade. Just spam them non stop and you will be fine. Archer is known for sub zero CD and super fast stamina regen. If in doubt just spam spike trap carpet bombing (especially good vs stealth units but it's amazing against anything). Explosive shot for ranged aoe.

 

You can consider replace evade with longshot if you play FC a lot.

 

Use Hakkon if you have it, if not use Andruil or Tez, or just make do with heartstring. Try put HoK stats on your bow to free up as much ring slots as you can and put on ability rings. PI ammy is great if you have it, otherwise renewal or Sta ammy. Belt is obviously going to be either health or urgency.

I pretty much did what HunterKipling's posted.   Level 1 I go thru threatening (because I can't yolo lv 1 archer in perilous) and get to 6 or 7.  Go straight down to get Opportunity Knocks.   The extra points I spent on caltrop upgrade and down the path toward Spike Trap.   The caltrop upgrade (self revive) + exposive shots (AoE) spam could get me thru perilous.   So after that I just finish the path to get to Spike Trap and I am golden.   After that I get leaping shot for the bosses.  And then take the increase damage passives.

 

I don't have Hakkon but I have heartstring, andruil and Tez.   I found heartstring has the most balanced outcome (survival + damage) with it's built in huge HoK and slots for mods.  I put in crit damage mods + 2 crit damage rings (because I don't need HoK ring), so I am close to 100% crit damage.   Both explosive shots and spike trap pretty much 1 shot everything in perilous and you could just cycle thru those 2 without break.  I like it better than using leaping shot because there no movement or animation delay.   I only use leaping shot on bosses or when there is only 1 archer left far away.

The main ability is the passive opportunity knocks. Together with some critical chance it will allow you to spam abilities like a beast. Even low promoted, you can add up to some 30% CC on bow upgrades.

I use to choose upgraded long shot, caltrops, explosive shot and leaping shot.

Long shot may not be the most efficient choice because of the high aggro generation, but it's hell of fun and I can't build an Archer without it.

Longshot is kinda meh for me. Don't know why somehow longshot is simply not generating threats for me all of a sudden. And the damage is pretty meh unless I'm on FC and actually trying to position myself to maximise its damage, which, let's face it, it's just plainly effort -_-

 

Evade up and leap shot on the face is much more fun for me XD And it's a no brainer :P

I found Heartstring didn't compare to Andruil's Gift in fairly extensive testing.  The damage output from Andruil's saved my life far more times than the heal on hit with Heartstring.  The difference in damage is fairly extreme since Andruil's ignores armor, just like magic.

I loves me some caltrops--softens 'em up a little. I've found two long range abilities to be underwhelming.

I like long shot... never use long draw, full draw, whatever.  Far too slow for me.

I tried it with that Tez explosiion bow... I just can't stand the wait time.  It is awesome when it hits but it is like watching paint dry.....

Andruil's Gift does crazy damage against the Qunari's :P   I am sad that my Explosive Shot damage is lower but, on the other hand, Leaping shot went way up.   I usually just spam Explosive Shots and Spike Traps.. so the bow does not help any in that.   I need to play around with it some more...

I think there is some strange display bug with Andruil's Gift.  Every basic bow attack shows 2 lightning damage numbers (same number) float overhead, but I am pretty sure the only damage is 1 of those 2 numbers.  And every explosion arrow shows fire and physical damage (same number) and I am pretty sure it is only the fire one counts.

After playing the Gift for a bit last night, I believe the double damage is real.  Although I still like the Heartstring better after getting spike trap.   The damage from spamming spike trap + explosive shot is higher with Heartstring with (54% crit damage mod) + two 20% crit damage rings.   It works really well against shield guys...since I have PI.   Just rush in the middle of them and they are dead in no time since they can't block either skills.   And the 1% health gain per hit actually made the archer invincible against range attacks if the targets do not die in a few shots.    Each leaping shot is like a 10% gain in HP and you could spam Explosive Shot and Leaping Shot to get full HP back quickly on a boss.

 

The Gift is awesome for low level when I can't spam skills though.

Thanks for testing it...  I will have to try the Heartstring next time I have a higher level archer.

With 110 cunning, 30% CC from grip upgrade and a few more from armor, it's almost 100% crit chance. Reducing cooldown and hitting with double damage all time.
