The Orb talk?

As for the knowledge about Arbor Wilds, he is over a thousand years old it may have been common knowledge before the first blight.
Both Cory and Solas woke to a world drowning in ignorance of magic.

No, what I am saying is that he used the orb to lock them away. It wasn't a simple matter doing this and clearly required great power; the power of the orb in fact since he needed this to reverse his previous action. Whatever power he may have had before his slumber I very much doubt it was sufficient in its own right to do what he claimed he did, raise the Veil and trap the Evanuris. The orb could always have been his own but it is not beyond the bounds of possibility that it could have been Mythal's, which he claimed on her death.
My point about the idiocy in giving the orb to Corypheus lies in the fact that it clearly needed great power to unlock it, which he did not possess himself. He apparently worked out that Corypheus was likely to have the power to unlock it, so why did he assume that he wouldn't have the power to withstand the magical backlash? If you are going to give it to a stranger that you have no qualms about killing, why not ask a Dalish Keeper to help you out rather than some dubious human mage with links to the Tevinter Imperium? At least the Keeper wouldn't have taken it into a gathering of thousands of people in order to use it. I also maintain he has a curious lack of knowledge about the assault on the Golden/Black City, the Grey Wardens and arch demons. Since the Blight is said to have its origins in the opening of the Veil the first time (something that you would think would concern him), surely he would have been aware of it in Uthenera (if nothing else his spirit friends might have informed him) and followed the progress of those who were capable of it. If he was in fact aware that Corypheus was one of those ancient Magisters, did it not occur to him to question how he had survived all this time (in a magical sleep) and if he could do this like the ancient elves, what else might he be capable of?
The Temple of Mythal in the Arbor Wilds seems to have been part of one of her major cities. Solas had to have known about this. Fen'Harel was linked with Mythal to such an extent that it is clear they worked together (or he was her servant) and she calls him "old friend". Surely if you can traverse the Fade and look into such diverse places as a Qunari bakery in Par Vollen and a barren landscape in the far south, you can also look for signs of inhabitants in old elven settlements that you know about. He could commune with his own follower, Felassan, from the Fade, so why not other elves in Uthenera, like Abelas?

*snip*
Morrigan didn't knew about the temple before that Corypheus was interested into it.she didn't had intel about the well of sorrow.
Morrigan did know there was a temple there and that it had a eluvian, but she decided to go after a mirror that was easier to get to, and thus didn't learn of the well of sorrows or the temple guardians until the inquisitor brought her there.

In the notes from the game files, the Orb is called the Orb of Mythal. DG has suggested those notes may have been overtaken as the lore developed but it's arguably of some worth given the ties we see between Solas and Mythal.
It makes sense that the power Solas wields that puts him on close to a level field with the Evanuris is tied to Mythal.
It follows based on what Solas tells a Dalish Herald on the way to Skyhold:

"Such things were foci, said to channel power from our gods. Some were dedicated to specific members of our pantheon"

However i don't recall that she said to know the temple location prior to the quest.
Morrigan tells you that when showing you her Eluvian.
"I found legends of an elven temple within the Arbor Wilds, untouched."
"It proved too dangerous to approach, and thus I turned elsewhere to find my prize."
