Hello

 

Currently i'm no reloading a solo sorcerer through BG2 (SCS, etc.......).

I'm having some problems protecting myself from chaos.

 

What are the options besides the different potions? As far as i know, none.

 

Well, spell immunity, spell deflection/turning etc. don't help, because chaos is an area of effect spell (at least scs mages - yuan ti to be more specific - are smart enough to "area target" my improved invisibel, spell immunity, spell deflecting, spell shielded, minor globed, all in all defensevely well protected lvl 13 sorcerer.

 

Any idea guys?

I think the only specific protection available for a solo sorcerer is the Greenstone Amulet - which you presumably won't have got access to yet.  However, spell immunity (enchantment) does work against chaos - if you want to rely on that though you will also need protection against it being dispelled.  An alternative approach would be to send summons in while you keep well out of the way.

First of all, thank you for your reply.

 

My no reload ended in the planar prison due to chaos from the bounty hunter yuan-ti-mage (the boots of speed guys).

 

I had a potion of clarity with me, but i didn't use it because i entered the fight with a potion of stone form (saving throws +3), shield, mirror imaged, prot. from fear, stoneskin, prot. from evil, spell immunity: enchantment, divination, alteration, active spell shield, globe of invulnerability (to cover 1-4 spells), and spell deflection.

 

Once i entered, i waited till everyone got hostile (like always, i don't attack blue circles), and casted improved invisibility...long story short, i think in the third round he casted chaos (my spell shield and spell immunity's still active) and i failed the save. Then my Char attacked and therefore got visible...and got killed.

 

I did some testing before i started the topic - i might be wrong - but the result was, because of the area of effect, spell immunity: enchantment didn't help.

I will test again and post the result.

I was wrong, spell immunity: enchantment works against chaos as is should. Like i said, i entered the fight with it, but it seems that it simply ran out (duration only 1 round/level). So that's it.
