So the N7 armor is at this point a part of the Shepard character. It just seems lame that our new character is going to be in the same old generic black N7 armor as Shepard. Just please give us options.
I hope we have an option to not wear N7 armor....

Surely that option will be in game. It's been in the previous three, so it likely will be.

yeah but in ME2 and 3 those other armors were more or less just variants on the default N7 armor. Just hope we get some real options this time around.

No doubt they will if ME3 is anything to consider.
The N7 armor was cool to customize in ME2 but having the other armors locked away in DLCs was a scum move on BioWare's part.

No they weren't. There are several armor sets completely different than N7. Now if you're referring to the armor pieces, then yeah, you've got a point.

Perhaps in this game they'll focus more on the Pathfinder-logo instead of the N7 one

I'm sure there will be a lot of armor options for the MC to wear.

I can see this happening.

As opposed to ME1 in which armors were vastly different?

I didn't mind Shepard wearing the N7 armor.

Armor customization is one of the few things Bioware has really promoted so far about Mass Effect: Andromeda, so chances are there will be ways to make your armor not N7.

Options, yes!
The N7 armour is a Mass Effect recognizable logo design and Bio, I think, wants to give us that familiarity. However, I find the suit to be in the light armour class. So, let's look forward to medium and heavy class armours too.
Additionally, the Leaked Survey strongly suggests that most combat personnel are recruited from the military arm of the Alliance (given the colonization, combat theme). As such, I doubt there will be serious deviation in combat suit design. Nevertheless, I'm open to non military squad mate recruitment that bring their own. The latter is more than likely, as we will have aliens in our midst.

I kind of wanted Vega to have an N7 armour in ME3, more generally, I want to be able to modify my squadmate's armour like in ME1 (although idk with or without a loot system) instead of just 2 variants.

Vega never actually joined N7 during ME3. He shouldn't have even gotten that tattoo.

He would've made it. He was a beast and a real leader in ME paragon lost. He should have been portrayed more hero like in ME3. I felt that the squadmembers never had their day. They were badasses on their own like garrus as archangel but pushovers when they were with him. I want to see more boss squadmember moments. They never used Vega to his full potential. They should really take that into consideration.Vega never actually joined N7 during ME3. He shouldn't have even gotten that tattoo.

Spoiler
Generic space cowboy? Personally I'd rather they do something different than sticking to overused molds like these.
As for armor choices, the N7 logo/armor in the trailer is for marketing purposes, it's a huge pointer to the series similar to the red and white color scheme and helps the viewers identify with the game. Obviously that's doesn't mean we're not gonna have other options, just like the previous games where we had a good amount of armor variations.

It would make no sense if you're not Alliance military, which we're not. We all understand that N7 is part of Mass Effect name-brand recognition at this point but it's synonymous with Shepard (and by extension the ending controversy) and it's not quite as iconic as BioWare think it is like the star trek logo for example. The only really iconic thing about this series are the aliens but they always shy away from their inclusion in marketing and instead opt to pitch the series as a generic military shooter and N7 is a big part of that and the reason I would like to see it retired.
Stop trying to fool general audiences that you're a gears/halo clone - it's 2016 and RPGs are cool again and star wars is king of the box office... general audiences are more open minded and ready to embrace supernatural/sci-fi/fantasy like never before and your franchise arguably has the coolest of this stuff (biotics/aliens) of any franchise in living memory. Open the floodgates and let in the huddled masses.
If this series must have an iconic logo then why not replace N7 with the ARKON logo which could be seen as BioWare Montréal's own unique seal/stamp on the franchise.
