The relationships all have problems in them because nobody is interested in a story where everyone always does the right thing. If people don't make bad choices and have mistakes to overcome theres no story to tell. I don't feel like the game endorses any of the mistakes the characters make, so I don't see the issue.

Cullen is a junkie trying to break away from drugs (unless you force him to continue taking drugs but I'm not sure if you can if you romance him) and Cassandra demands courting before she accepts your feelings.
Idk, all the relationships have certain degree of **** to them, which is great.

Having issues to resolve, or just being complicated, doesn't make them toxic.

I wouldn't call what we got in the DA relationships as issues.......they are big,big problems....from mass robbery,to city destructions,to bloody sex rituals and worldwide genocides......

But doesn't she have some lame ultimatum if you're Dalish, though? Like having to give up all that you believe in? Haven't done her romance nor plan to but I've heard this is a thing.

Honestly.... those are they personal flaws, they still attempting doing so if you don't romance them, so problem is not toxic romances but dysfunctional people living in Thedas.

I'd imagine tree and alligator offspring are toxic due to their very nature...

Being so stubborn that even when her life is on stake she insists on going through the paperwork to solve her problems.... maybe?

That's not unhealthy or toxic to the Inquisitor. Plus she'll go along with Leliana's idea if the Inquisitor chooses that.
I didn't make the list of characters but i think that's the only one i missed.Cullen,Cassandra,Sera,Josephine and Leliana ah this 5 :||
Ah, okay. You're adding to the list of healthy relationships as the thread goes.

This comment is a copy paste from another topic from @Bayonet
many of the romantic relationships in Dragon Age games are unhealthy in real life.
Morrigan tries to sperm jack you into a shady ritual to have your kids and then just runs off. If you refuse to do this shady ritual, she runs off on the eve of one of the toughest battle of your life. When you do see her again, you don't get to see your own son unless you are nice to her.
Isabela continues to want to have sex with others even when she is in a committed relationship (unless if you are in the third act).
Cassandra demands to be courted because its romantic to her which is not very different from a woman demanding an expensive wedding and an overpriced diamond engagement ring because its romantic to her.
Anders schemes behind your back to blow up a building with the express intent of starting a war.
Solas romances you, then breaks up with you (during which he might have removed something from you) and then in Trespasser declares his genocidal intents as well as his love before magically amputating your arm and walking away while watching you in his dreams.
Yeah Cassandra is a monster for being romantic and appreciating someone who is willing to do things that make her happy. It's almost like she resembles most human relationships.
How is enjoying being wooed in a traditional method analogous to demanding an expensive wedding? I'm missing the middle step in this leap of logic.

I'm sure, the demand to be courtship is very different than the expectations of the foolish spending ...
While there is certainly someone who more likes to go to bed after a drink ... (Oh sorry! The drink is too expensive and time-killer)

Isn't Cass the one in Trespasser you don't end up getting married to? Or one of them? I'm no Trespasser wedding expert.
