Hello, it's my first playthrough so I don't really have a frame of reference: I'm at level 13 and have 7 influence, is  this ok? or should I have more influence?

also, which areas are appropriate for which levels?

and last question: in which order (and at what level) it is recommended to to the main quests? (the ones with the green mist on the war table?)

Don't really worry about what level your Inquisition is; you'll move along as you do quests.

Here is a guide for you to browse through. Be aware that there are SPOILERS in the guide. This guide is primarily concerned with completing the areas in order for the story aspect of the game, but I think it will be helpful to you as well. A great part of it is designed around my own perception, so keep that in mind as you read along. It's basically a suggested path, so if you want to do something else, feel free to do that.

Are you suggesting pretty much doing all the side areas before the main quests? Interestingly that sort of what I am doing - I hate the Orlesian party thing, so i try to leave that one for as long as I can.

I was going to finish Empress and then do Western Approach to meet  u no who. I have done the Hinterlands, Storm Coast, Mire, Crestwood and Emerald Graves.

I was going to finish Empress and then do Western Approach to meet  u no who. I have done the Hinterlands, Storm Coast, Mire, Crestwood and Emerald Graves.

If this is to me, then no, that's not what I'm suggesting, but rather to do each map in a logical (to me) story order. For example, with your list, why would you NOT go to the Western Approach after meeting with Hawke in Crestwood? That's the next step in the story, and from there you do Here Lies the Abyss. I feel that once you've finally met Hawke, you set the ball rolling for Crestwood, Western Approach, Abyss and it makes the most sense to do all of these in succession. This is the reason I put off meeting Hawke at all (and leave Varric hanging) until I'm ready to do all those things.

I'm able to put off Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts for quite a while. Even though the first meeting with the advisors at Skyhold suggests that the ball will be held in a short time, Josephine still has to wrangle an invitation. I'm able to headcanon that "Orlesian time" isn't necessarily the same time as other parts of the world, so I can put off this mission with the reasoning that, by the time I'm ready for it is when then ball will actually take place (how convenient!).

But again, people can do whatever makes them happy and I don't consider any of it a "wrong" way to play. This order just makes the most sense to me.
