Because the ME trilogy is in 3ds person view I would like to suggest (for a change of prospective and variety) to develop the Mako sequences in this way: a crew of 4 people inside the Mako, using a First person view, to manage the crew and drive the vehicle...that would be a refreshing way to play..I think a bit of first person view spice a bit the immersion factor.

What do you think?

Only if every squadmate gets a custom first-person vomit animation. The Krogan fills the entire cabin with gigantic chunks; the Quarian fills their visor with chunks; the Asari has blue chunks, and so on...

I think the Mako should be controlled from a second-person point of view.

Darn it. I thought this was going to be someone who had made an animation of what the inside of the Mako looks like. I have never quite been able to figure out how people it into it, and where the driver sat in order to see where the thing was going. I am afraid though that a first person point of view in the game might cause motion sickness in many people because of how lurchy the Mako will still be, even if it is less lurchy than the original.

It's probably not as cool as it sounds, considering how bumpy the terrain is and how much air potential you get. And all the vertical angles during climbing. In real life, it'd be great.. but I don't know about a game. You don't get the same feel or wide visuals.

If it has a first person view, it needs to be compatible with VR. Then you can get a rollercoaster like ride for free from the comfort of home.

In that case, I'm all for it.

I love first person view for driving sims like GT, but I don't think I'd like it nearly as much for the Mako. All that bumping around and random (and likely hostile) encounters would not suit it particularly well.

It'd prolly look a lot like the inside of a tank.  Those things are small and cramped.  So, no, thank you.  I don't wanna be smelling krogan farts on my first mission in Andromeda.

I can't do first person, it gives me headache. Thanks but no thanks.

I find third person more immersive since I see myself as the character, but that's just me.

I think the Mako should be controlled from a second-person point of view.

You are hurtling down the rocky path towards the fortified Geth base. A formidable steel door stands between you and your objective. "Maybe we can find a side window." suggests Tali, one of your occupants.

Option A - I look for a side window as Tali suggests.

Option B - I try to shoot through the door.

Option C - I bellow "**** YOU I'M THE MAKO!"  while using my jump jets to leap over the door.

I think it would be an opportunity to diversify the gameplay and the prospective, watching the enemies and also you teammates in first person is something refreshing, olso it could bring new gameplay mechanics, yes a sort of ''tank feeling'' where it could be fun managing the crew and the weapons onboard...I think the feeling of protection and power could be a shift compared to the normal gameplay...also driving, could be fun because more immersive...there could be a monitor inside and thus receiving communications, extra information....

Othe reasons could be for example having different kinds of missions where the crew has to  capture a particular character and using the Mako to escape from the scene with inside the captive...

What about a scene where the Mako can transform itself into a superfast vehicle and surfing huge icy lands like a huge frozen lake or sea....

I think, there are enough reasons to think about a solution of this kind...cheers! :-)

How about being able to switch between 1st and 3rd person view like in BF3 or BF4? That way everyone's happy.

Not a bad idea (I love using vehicles in games - hell, I am a pretty good tank-driver (in say Battlefield 4) - and having some sort of cockpit view is always nice)

ps: Even more when said Mako (sorry, Bioware, but it really does!) looks more like a damned piece of farm-machinery (!) than a tank IMHO!

I prefer a third-person view for the Mako. I'm fine the game having the option to switch it though.

What about changing the camera angle to watch from the outside of the mako at the passengers inside?

Even  better would be if the facial expressions changes when they hit a pot hole, holding the roof or complain if the driver takes a sudden left and people falling out of their seats.

Of course - switching is always preferable (as there's situations where an outside view is preferalbe to a gun-turret or cockpit view), I don't think anybody wants to remove 3rd-person view :)

Except, you know, the dickheads are unhappy that switching would be an option...
