Whoa Oh! I realized that when i drink enough i actually have some brilliant revelation.
Cailan is Loghain son because he made Rowan pregnant in the stolen throne while Maric was flirting with the bard.
Rowan  made Maric believe that it was his son, then due to the sense of remorse she died as well.
Cailan:"Glorious!"

Cailan was born in 9:05 Dragon so unless Rowan had about a 3 year pregnancy, it doesn't seem likely.

Cailan doesn't in any way resemble Loghain.  He resembles Maric and is almost a twin to Alistair, his half brother, and as far as I recall Rowan was supposed to have brown hair?  Where would the blonde have come from but his father who actually has blonde hair?  That's a recessive gene.  They can get by with saying Anora is his daughter since we don't really get to see her mother, she might resemble Loghain's wife.

It's a far stretch to place him as Loghain's son, particularly since Anora and Cailan were married.  Kind of sicko to imagine Bioware would hitch siblings to each other.  Feelden isn't ancient Egypt.

Yeesh.

Far more interesting is the hypothesis that Nathaniel (who more resembles Loghain than Cailan) might be Loghain and not Howe's son.  Now that one I'd entertain, considering how Howe and his mother treated Nate.

Cailan is supposed to be five years old in "the Calling". Rowan died two years before. He is twelve in the epilogue for "the Stolen Throne".

The Calling takes places around 9:10. 10-5=5, so he was born in 9:05, and Rowan died in 9:08.

Anora has blonde hair like Cailan thus mean that Loghain had the blonde hair recessive gene.
One from Rowan and one from Loghain and boom blonde hair!

That is misinformation bioware has problems with the timeline and they often make mistakes, Rowan wasn't even dead when Alistair was born.

I wouldn't even consider recessive genes in the case of Anora or Cailan having blonde hair. As someone mentioned up there we don't get to see Loghains young wife, ever, so we can just assume she was Blonde+Blonde on her side. Even if Loghain HAS a Blonde+brown on his side, it still doesn't equal him being Cailan's father.

Also if Loghain even had a hint that his daughter was going to marry his own son, despite his flaws, he would have put a stop to it. In the books he was completely traumatized by crimes committed against the women in his family and I do not see him allowing serious emotional or other harm coming to Anora ever.

The very fact that he walks away from Rowan even though she is the love of his life due to his fealty and allegiance to Maric is proof of his finer qualities as a man.

Now that would be cool, specially if you recruit both as Wardens.

No he isn't. He looks like Alistair, who looks like Maric.

There's a strong family resemblance between all three Theirin princes.

Loghain's SOL as far as Rowan's concerned.

Hmm. Yeah. Because we all know that if a woman has sex with a man, any child she bears thereafter (even years after!) is probably the child of the first guy. This is especially true when the child looks exactly like the later lover, and not at all like the first one. ;)

Hehe, I love these topics.

How about, Morrigan is Loghain's daughter? (!!!!!?)

Both pale brunettes, both cold and cynical and utterly awesome with delicious English accents. And somewhat pronounced noses. Family resemblance, check.

Plausibility? We know that Loghain and Maric spent a night under Flemeth's roof roughly 33 years before Origins, and that Flemeth asked a favor of Maric which he refused to discuss with Loghain afterwards. While Loghain strikes me as a light sleeper, my point in one of the other threads about how Morrigan's Entropy spells would easily allow her to incapacitate and ravish Alistair/Loghain(Oooh, squicky) if the PC proved stingy with his "little grey wardens" would count for Flemeth and Loghain as well.

Could Morrigan be 33 years old? Definitely. There's no way her appearance isn't influenced by magic already. Living in a swamp and baring that much perfect white skin? There's cheating involved.

Theoretically, that would make Kieran heir to Gwaren and Morrigan his Regent if she could prove her parentage. Or knew about it, for that matter. And twice over if Loghain is Kieran's father as well as grandfather. Headcanon? :)

I like the one that supposed that she's actually Maric's daughter. When Maric was in the Kokari Wilds and Flemeth asked him for a favour, that's what she asked for. Which would make Morrigan Alistair's half-sister, and makes the Dark Ritual even MORE creepy. All very Morgan le Fey. :)  (I believe David Gaider flatly denied that this was the case, but, pfft, who cares what the writers intended. Hehe. ;))

Okay, that's pretty neat too. I'd almost consider keeping Alistair around just to make him have sex with Morrigan for that.

It isn't a good dark fantasy without some incest :D As someone who has shipped the Wälsungs since I was 12, I very much like these theories.

Sorry but thats bull, if he was so honorable and fine a man he wouldn't have slept with his (then) best friends betroved. I also can see Morrigan as Marics child actually, and I can see her sleeping with her own half brother especially if it gave her more power. (morrigan isn't squeamish)
