Samson, Calpernia, and Corypheus are all fixed characters with personalities and their own agendas and reasons for doing things. If Bioware were to make a game where you played as a villain, it would be as your own character, and your antagonist would be the fixed character (hero) who is trying to stop you.
But to go along with your question: I really have no interest in playing a villain type. In order for me to do so in this case, it would have to be of the scenario I described above, with the PC being an actual character that I create in the villain role, and not as a fixed character. I want to be able to decide if my PC wants godlike power, is after some grander cause, or simply just never got enough hugs as a kid.

I know they are all fixed characters but in a way your Inquisitor is a fixed character as well. You cannot say at the beginning i don't want to fight your war and leave and go away and live your own life because that would mean the end of the game.
Okay thank you for your answer

The best way of playing the villain would be just like the "Darkspawn Chronicles" from Dragon Age: Origins!
If they were going to do something like that again, I would imagine it wouldn't be as simple as 'playing the main villain' because, as nightscrawl said... they have fixed personalities. I think they would go a similar route as with Darkspawn Chronicles and maybe let you play as the Qunari as they pummel Thedas down into submission under the Qun, or possibly controlling forces of Solas to destroy the world as we know it... even something like Tevinter/Orlesian forces attacking other parts of Thedas.
Of course, non of these would be canon and just for a fun/unique experience like the Darkspawn Chronicles.

But what if you could and i know they are fixed characters and that it is not simple to play as one of them. But let's say they are not fixed characters and that you could play as one of them who would you pick. Or would you say no not me ( like Nightscrawl ) i don't want to play as the villain.

I play as Cory. Instead of throwing the soon-to-be Inquisitor at the trebuchet, I would've killed him/her right there while holding her/him up in the air. I win.

Well, you could play the Inquisitor as the villain. History gives you the script - look at the real inquisition. You could be like Torquemada, torturing and killing enemies of the church, you even have the option to go down the darker, more ruthless route. The only thing, I would change at the end, is that you have the option to rise to power yourself as Divine

Okay that is correct what you say that you can play the Inquisitor as the villain the script is indeed there. But that is not what will happen in my scenario when you play as the villain Corypheus will win at the end and you will be fighting by his side when you are Samson or someone else. And if you play the Inquisitor as the villain you still kill Corypheus at the end.

In my opinion, this game would have much more interesting if the Inquisition depicted more the Inquisition of old described from Mother Giselle. A much more grey organization willing to do anything to ensure, or enforce, peace. Good guys that basically need to act the villains at times, or villains that work for the good guys
Also, if the game was about the mage/templar with, again, The Inquisition acting as enforcers i would have liked it much more than "ancient evil has risen, you're the only one who can stop it(so go collect craftables)"

As i impliead before, if it's "Darth Revan" kind villain, so smart and with an overall reason to act "evil", then yes. Malak or Corypheus kind of villain? (conquer the world/galaxy by destroying everything) Nope

If I were to play a DA:I villain - it would probably be Solas.
I thought you and Solas were not getting along that well

Me to but it just would be a change of scenery to play as someone else ( the villain in this case ) and not always the "good" guy/girl.

I do not want to play villain. Morally questionable deeds my every character is doing (for example: dark ritual, blood magic, promiscuity etc.), I don't have a "perfect" chars, but I avoid the explicitly "evil" choices. Simply i dont like play with a char who i hate.
