It's the mouth that gave it away.

But what is your answer would you like to play Inquisition as the villain or not ?

Yes. I would have definitely be able to put Corypheus' resources to far better use.

I mean he had everything - Mage Wardens, Templars or Rebel Mages, Demons, The Venatori, dumb Orlesian nobles, a powerful ancient Elven relic with him, soylent Red Lyrium and a High Dragon.

Yet, the buffoon still lost.

Yep he did   :(  what a buffoon   ;)

And true he had a lot of resources and he used them badly.

...huh.

If I was Cory, I'd keep up the pressure. He doesn't believe Inquisition/ The Inquisitor a threat, thus he goes easy on it.

His fatal flaw.

The only way it would ever work is if being the "villain" was the whole game, not an option. Creating two separate naratives for a single game would simply use too many dev resources. And even then, the only motivation I can see working is "seize power/take over the world", with the player deciding what they wanted to do that for (like the Faith/Order/Individual choice at Skyhold), and how they would go about doing that.

I don't think Bioware would ever do that in DA, because they fundamentally believe in limiting player agency in order to keep the DA world cohesive for future titles. It's why the DA:O boon choice didn't matter, why Hawke's Mage/Templar choice didn't matter, and why the Inquisition always downsizes in Trespasser. Heck, it's why the protagonists are shunted out of view come the next game.

I wouldn't have minded being able to role play my Inquisitor like the ones from Warhammer 40k. Doing arguable things to ensure order and good for the institution that you serve. The most extreme that I can remember one being is allowing Leliana to be hardened and to basically execute everyone, but that wasn't really what a 40k inquisitor did (although did form a large percentage of their job!). It would probably be the only way that I could role play an 'evil' character.

"A" villain could be cool. The villain, not so much.

... I'd pick a cooler version of Chancellor Roderick. Some twitchy cleric. Seems a fitting contrast to my character :P

Right?! I mean seriously, he had all of the pieces he could possibly need and yet he squandered it all.

I think Corypheus is only that bad for arbitrary reasons. The whole game was set up to be one sided and bombastically in the protagonist's favor. Down to being worshipped. It almost seems like a joke. Like their response after people complaining about DA2 and ME3. "Oh you guys want Heroic and things to always go your way? Here ya go then."

Problem is they have at least two more games they want to write after this, and unless you want to be thwarted by the hero at the end, they can't do that if they let you destroy Thedas as we know it.

I would've made my Male Lavellan a bit of a villain.  B)  With being able to get anything he wanted without moral...

Be a powerful inquisitor, not some puppet, thats what I want to be.

If you let me play cory, the first thing I thought about is to hire some extra muscles for door-keeping, so  no random pass-by ruin my master plan. second thought is to attack haven and get back my anchor immediately, you need to figure out whats most important right?Besides, there is nothing to lose,I can respwan with the help of grey wardens right? Then, secure temple of mythal before any of my enemies thought about it?

In mage mission,  i ll instruct my minions to turn Leliana into a broodmother. I mean come on, cory, how can you not think about that?!A broodmother means 1000 extra soldiers! And we know from DAO that broodmother can talk and think, just more......open-minded,she will be more willingly to talk right?

In DAI,cory felt so dumb, that I can hardly think him as a villain. He looks more like a mentally ill person to me.

Me neither if i was playing as him.

That was his first mistake and he made many more to many.

I don't think that Bioware would do that either in DA but what if they did and you could exually play as the villain what would be your choice would you play the villain or not and who would that be ? Because you did not answer that question.

I'd love to play a DLC "Darkspawn Chronicles" style where I am a villain and I play against the Inquisition;  something that could also maybe stay canon, for example one of those war table missions turned full playable DLC: you are an evil general of some troops and have to meet / defeat the Inquisition troops somewhere.

If I had to pick one of the named villains of Inquisition, I would want to be the Dread Wolf or Calpernia (she is a very interesting character).

Y'know, in that case, Samson's actually not a bad villain from my perspective too. He's not as cool as Calpurnia imo, but a nice counterpart to my Inquisitor (also male, and a Chantry brother... but not a crack addict standing on street corners :P).

Then let's fight the Inquisition side by side you as Samson me as Calpernia and they would not stand a chance Victory would be ours  ;)
