I'm in two minds about this, but here's an example of when I don't think it's completely fair.
I pugged into a u/u/g gip, fully loaded with gear that I value. The game I got was a solo Australian host on wave 2. The lag was difficult, and the host was not a good player. He died and did not gel several times on wave 2, but I kept reviving him. Wave 3 was devices; I did them all while the host spawn nuked/died repeatedly. Wave 4 was the last wave: the host bled out, and I was just finishing off the last enemy when he quit. By this time I was fed up with it all, and decided to quit rather than restart wave 4 and possibly solo the rest. I bled out so at least I'd get my wave 3 reward. But the gear I'd equipped was basically wasted.
On the other hand, there are good pugs when you'll drop into a fast game with good players, so maybe it balances out. Also, losing your gear upon quitting is an incentive not to quit (assuming you've equipped in the first place). And I guess I could've mitigated my loss by carrying on and either soloing it or have others join: after all, the lag would've been fixed by host migration and I would've got a full set of gels etc. So maybe it was my own fault. But I still can't help feeling slightly aggrieved.
What would be the fairest way of dealing with this is MEAmp?
