Well it was an interesting exchange, I'm beginning to get accustomed to it with Grunt haha not our first  ;) . Looks like though every one brings its own perspective and nuances, there's definitely more to agree on than to disagree, just needed a few more words to clarify everyone's point of view. It's not that easy to do in writting because it takes a lot of words, at the same time writting gives you pause to think back on your argument and make it more pertinent/clearer. Teabaggin the way you talked about competition kinda felt like inspiration, as in something to aspire in, that's something I can relate to and appreciate. Gotta admit I'm aslo interested in those political views Grunt, feels like I might share a few. Anyways, a pleasure talking with you both.

One time my level 20 Orc Shaman was waterrunning off the coastline of Stranglethorn Vale because there were level 40+ gank crews hanging around the village, and I came up behind a Night Elf who was swimming along the coastline for the same reason.  Since I was waterwalking, and not swimming, I was able to start Frost Shocking him and all he could do was /spit at me until he died.  This was in vanilla WoW PvP server and I must say was the most fun I ever had playing it, and I played through everything up to and including WotLK.

Lawls, I was on a normal server (Terenas) for most of it, and wouldn't touch PvP for most of Vanilla WoW. (That didn't last long though)

Eventually got into a 2k rated RBG team after they went in trade chat yelling, "JOIN US" for five minutes >.< Lawls, couldn't say no. Glad I didn't. Got in with some amazingly skilled and hilarious players.

You ever go to Goldshire on Moonglade?

@Shady Engineer, yeah had my fair share of those moments in battlefield. It's true a squad/team that sticks together for the objectives, helping the team with vehicle support and things like clearing mines etc and most importantly PTFO actually improves everyone's game as well. I've had games where a lone guy flanking the enemy managed to capture a flag while his team was getting base camped and then people started spawning on there changing the outcome of the whole game.

But these cases of turning the tables are kinda rare though and while it's true coordination and cooperation are very important but there are many other game modes as well and no matter how good you are at cooperating in battlefield, you also need to be decent at actually shooting stuff. More often than not games are decided by which team has the better number of more skilled players from my experience.

That's why I said objective oriented game modes. Y'know- conquest, rush, obliteration, Titan/CA (even though CA was a failure IMO). In stuff like TDM where the goal is to literally kill enemy mans faster than they kill you, sure, better shooters win. I think these TDM based games like CoD and to a lesser extend the TDM part of BF is where the picking on newbie players stigma of pvp shooters came from. In a game mode where KDR literally means how much value you bring to the team, a 30/4 player complaining about how a 1/17 player is dragging the team down is unfortunately kinda right. 30/4 player slings crap, 1/17 slings it right back, cluster fk ensues. Compared to say rush or conquest where that 1/17 guy could actually be the teams savior by running through a hail of bullets to disable the charge and win the round or back cap a point to give the loosing team a foothold.

The only TDM I played in BF was a couple grind games of either Metro or Noshar Canals to unlock weapon attachments. After that it was back to conquest and rush.

Dawkins ...is a blinkered, fundamentalist religious zealot, ...

Ahem ...you didn't know that your "religious zealot" is a proclaimed atheist?

OT: "A man’s reputation is the opinion people have of him; his character is what he really is". – Jack Miner

BSN as community tolerates a variety of opinions that are different than mine. I respect that, try to not rage on their perception or feel personally attacked by opinion.

Completionist(don't return to finished stuff) : Ut, battlefield, killzone, COD 1/2/3, wing commander, xcom, ghost recon, half life 1, fear, bioshock, etc.
Games never opened from their "plastic wrap" since me1,me2,me3 : crysis, far cry, splinter cell. Book more total hours in sp +mp than other games.

I think you missed the point, not sure what he meant but what qualifies as religion is highly debatable. If someone blindly follows a belief system in which God does not exist, then one could make the argument that he is an atheist and a religious zealot at the same time. Not arguing about God here, just think Grunt's sentence wasn't that obviously incoherent.

Disagree. WOTLK was one of the best times I've had in that game. I waited till ICC was around though, the first half with Ulduar/Floating Necromancer Spire-place I avoided in favour of getting into PvP in a bad way.

Once I got into a decent HICC10 team that was pushing progress (and had awesome players) things got amazing.

Burning Crusade was my favorit part, the memories from Hyjal and Black Temple.

WOTLK had lot's of good content as well, Ulduar was a great raid zone and ICC wasn't that bad either, some of the hc boss versions were quite hard to take down (Mr Arthas especially).

And I appreciate every tip you give me about Dank Souls 2. I play it on PS4. As soon as SotFS got announced I postponed purchasing it until after I bought a PS4. Picked it up during a sale, got killed by the first group of enemies because yolo, got to Majula, explored a bit, then I went back to ME3. Nowadays I'm just soloing, or playing Demon's Souls with mex, and eventually I'll play DkS1 with ark as soon as he gets it. As for ME3 I'll either get my sub-20 and take a break, or I'll ragequit and say that ME3 soloing is just a crappy RNG simulator and it doesn't even worth my time. Anyway I'll end up with DkS2 soon and hope to get addicted. Bowlcuts said he's going to pick up the PS4 version after he's done with DeS, so there's hope!  :D

Any plans for you to get a PS4?

Get a ps4?

vn0TUoc.png?fb

It really is so tempting though, I'd met some cool people in ds2 on the old potato3 and almost all of them are on ps4 now and playing DS3. But life happens man, I don't see anyway to get it recently and even if I do, I'm not sure If I could afford the time to play on it much these days. I do plan to get it eventually, just not in the immediate future due to my circumstances. I'm sorry, it might sound like I'm noping out but it's the truth. :(

It's a good thing you got scholar for ps4, the dlcs are truly beautiful for ds2 and they have some badass weapons there as well. Also Heides tower which is right next to majula is a good place to start practicing your pvp if you can manage to get some summons. Fun fact, in my first playthrough I died on the very first spot where you wake up and start the game. I was exploring that area when I fell over the edge and died. Got the trophy "this is dark souls" which had me grinning like an idiot. Oh and don't forget to read the messages in game, they're hilarious, good luck.

@ LightRobot, likewise my friend, you put some great points yourself. :)

Thank you my friend, you said it much more eloquently that the one word 'Whoooooosh' response I might have given.

I have also very much enjoyed the intelligent discussion among adults, from all perspectives.  :)

Yup mostly played conquest and rush myself. What I was emphasizing was that while k/d may not mean anything, there needs to be a minimum level of skill for the team as a whole to win the game. And more often than not a newbie player with a low k/d isn't going to be a huge asset to the game. Sure there are exceptions of course but in my experience anyone who's spending more time viewing the loading screen than actually killing stuff isn't going to be a of much help. I'm not talking about your overall k/d, just the one in the game we're playing together.

New players also might take away crucial advantages like taking the team's tank or helicopter and then letting the enemy destroy them or even worse take possession of them. Sure there are some great players with low k/d but that's the exception not the norm. In most cases, the heroic 1/17 player you mentioned running through a hail of bullets is gonna get his ass shot rather than the other way around, at least in my experience.

Definitely, Arthas was tough, although Puttress (sp?) the end guy in the infected quarter felt a bit tougher trying to manage his jumping plagues on heroic.

I never did Hyjal or BT actually. Well when they were current at any rate. During those times I was in full pvp mode on my warlock/frostmage. (Warlock was my main)

Yeah the professor, 25 man HC was hard, there were always someone standing in the wrong place or missing to pass on the plague.

The 25 HC version of Sindragosa were a real challenge as well.

When I was playing Battlefield, I was the ******* who would sneak behind enemy lines and start knifing them in the back... or shooting people from a very very very long way away... or the guy who would try to kill campers in funny ways. That was my job on the team. :P I did go and complete objectives most of the time though. I think my favourite Battlefield moment was on BF3, operation metro, conquest. I was using the M5K at the time. I snuck behind where the enemies were, knifed a few in the back and then with a single mag got about 3 squad wipe ribbons or something stupid... that was a good start to a match. Went down hill quickly though. Ended up losing XD

Am I the only person who, when there are games which allow you to have smoke grenades, get a **** tonne of them and launch them everywhere? My set ups are basically smoke grenades, things that increase grenade capacity and an SMG when I can. :P Or flash bangs... or tear gas. They're good too. But yeah, smoke grenades are awesome.

Yeah used to do the same except the long range kills bit. I found long range sniping to be so boring and I always played the objective so I never stayed at long range despite using the snipers quite a lot. I did hugely enjoy knifing people though as well as killing campers in style! Teabagging campers was mandatory, doesn't matter if I'm getting shot by someone else, I'd risk death if it means I can finish teabagging that dirty camper!

Had a lot of great kill moments in BF4, involving lots of C4, roadkills and the SRAW. Also was kinda decent with the tank so mowing down enemy infantry and shooting down helicopters was pretty entertaining. As for grenades, I always stuck with the regular grenades or the v40 minis for extra nades. Never used smoke really but I did get a kill with a flashbang once!

Btw you two - we are waiting for da next phase.
Phase 3 (of insulting one another )was successfully closed by confirmation of a mod
Jack crapper was woken up in his S.P.A.M. Group - but didn't deliver yet -only one measly post in some non-descript thread- we have to move on if he can't write a proper BSN anthem in time.

If I have it correct you are waiting for some european with a pc me3 to invite u both,...

Nevermind, not gonna derail this thread over a jamoke.

I once made a Joker like character in GTAV to troll people. Called him the Jamoker. Might do the same in ME3 with a Human kit, lol. Minus the secondary account. Just a green and purple color scheme snd a funny voice.

So much this. All day erry day. I hated 25HICC. Our guild went through a weeding process and came out with a solid bunch for 10m. We partnered with 2-3 different guilds for HICC25 and some of em were terrible. (And these nominally were the best the guilds were offering.)

Agree with Sindy too. 10m was so different, once you had a competent few you could 6 man her with 4 carries without too much hassle. Just worked differently in 25.
