Why would Bioware randomly decide to add PvP? Although reading through this thread, I almost want them to just so I can bathe in the tears.
Bathing in tears is so 2015.

Sssoooo... my experience with PvP is Destiny. I always die ASAP.
I was level 17 and the others were levels 21-30. Could that be why?
How can I suck THAT bad? I don't even have time to shoot and I die before I can even recognize my surroundings.
If they have PvP in Andromeda, I hope they allow you to lock into arenas where everyone is exactly the same level. I'm not saying everything should be nerfed for n00bs, but I just don't want to be a beginner, lvl 14, going up against levels 28's.

I wasn't that good at PvP in the beginning either, but now I'm kinda killing it with my sunbreaker Titan in Iron Banner. Doing firebase memento right now!
If there is PVP
I hate PVP gameplay that makes heavy use of stuns. Nothing like getting jumped by five or six people that all use stuns on you, and you can't do anything but watch your repeatedly immobilized character die. Even when you do it to other people, it feels kind of lame.
Why not both?
There's no reason why PVE and PVP modes can't exist in the same game. They do in most MMOs for example. That said, I don't expect there will be a PVP mode. i just think it might be fun if there was an option to occasionally play against other players.
Because PvP play inevitably screws up co-op and PvE play. There's a never ending death spiral of rebalancing as people complain about "op" classes and "op" builds and the developers respond, which inevitably screws up co-op play and PvE, requiring those to be rebalance, which inevitably gives rise to PvP imbalances, which...
Yeah. PvP is a BAD idea for online games unless it is completely isolated, a separate game almost.
If there is PVP
Spoiler, I pray to the Enkindlers that were won't be any stun locks.

Pretty weird complaint considering most power s in ME focus around stun locking enemies. Its like hating someone because they keep Warping your barriers and using pull on you despite you choosing to be a Vanguard
ME so far is entirely focused on PVE gameplay.
Stun-locking isn't a big deal when it's used against computer-controlled opponents. It quickly kills fun in a PVP environment however, where the overuse of stun-locks diminishes the role of actual player skill and it just becomes a game of who can amass numerical superiority (with more stuns to spam) or matches being dominated by FOTM classes with more overpowered stun abilities.
As others have said, I can't imagine how they could possibly balance mass effect combat around pvp.
Unless they've totally overhauled the combat system, it would be unsuitable for pvp.
A good example to how MP in general can influence SP can be found in DA:I.
If DA:I didn't have a MP, I doubt all those changes and re-balancing of certain classes and abilities would have occurred.
(one example I remember off the top of my head is the change to Spirit Blade)
If a PvP mode were to exist, this would become ten times worse, because balance is more crucial in PvP than in co-op.
If this was to be completely separate - great, but if every time I load my game for SP I can expect different abilities, that is a major annoyance.
I believe it would be cool later but it would take away from the single player aspect which is what bioware games are all about. As much is unknown about Mass Effect Andromeda, it is hard to say what will be included in the multiplayer portion of the game. I assume co-op will be making a return, but other than that it is hard to judge.
One thing that I do not want to see in Andromeda is PvP multiplayer. There are others out there who agree. So this is a chance to get your opinion heard.
PvP multiplayer automatically reduces the quality of the community. When the object of the game is to kill one another, there is no sense of cooperation. There will be less talk of trying out interesting character builds - people will focus in on the most powerful setup and use it, because it is advantageous for them to do so.
Then comes hacking. Inevitably, there will be hackers in the game. In PvP games, hackers rule. They give themselves unfair advantages over other people. In co-op games, the effect that hacking has is reduced - there is less annoyance than there would be in PvP games. Just look at GTA Online as an example of why this wouldn't be a good idea.
PvP would also go against the spirit of Mass Effect. Cooperation is a main theme in the third game especially. Players should be standing together against an enemy, not fighting against each other.
Focusing solely on co-op multiplayer would also allow Bioware to put more resources into making a stable multiplayer experience - something ME3MP really wasn't.
If you agree with any of the above, and if you don't want PvP in Mass Effect Andromeda, sign your BSN name below. Hopefully PvP is not on the cards to begin with, but it pays to have a contingency plan. Let's see how many names we can get.

I don't care what they do with the mp as long as it doesn't interfere with the sp and isn't prioritized over the sp. That said I think the co-op horde mode they used in ME 3 worked well and they should stick with what works.
