Should be noted that it is a fox, not a wolf. At least the devs are referring to it as a fox.

It is a book about a fox that plays chess.
The fox is also on fire. A firefox! A book about a browser game.

Fair enough.
Unless they're being tricky. Which would fit the occasion. ![]()

I don't know if I'd take them too literally there... they're all trying to be comedians this afternoon. ![]()
Too soon.
I mean too soon .
Anyway part of me wants to say "hey it might be that strategy game because there's a tower!" but I don't think bringing back the Dread Wolf in a strategy game would be grand .All you bases belong to Solas.
If it's DA4 it's too soon ...unless they think they can release the game in less than 2 years...I might not be prepared for 3 or 4 years of teasing.
Anyway at this point DA4 and its release just confuses me , I blame SecretIP for this.
I didn't notice it was a book , well it's possible it's some kind of project they did to get DA4 greenlit by EA , seems a bit small though.
I remember they did a short video for DA2 where you could get a sense of the intro , dialogue wheel , and art direction.
Could be DA4 overall plot , I guess?With some artwork etc ...

Well, the Dread Wolf *is* pretty foxy, you gotta admit.
But yeah, i don't believe it. Especially since Cameron started the references. Wolf until proven otherwise. ![]()

I would so love them to announce it as greenlit. Maybe E3/EA Play 2017.
They did just post a whole bunch of new job openings, so... maybe they're gearing up to tackle ME: Andromeda, the new IP *and* DA4 all at once...? Am I being too optimistic?
Seriously, though... 23 new job openings at the three studios? http://www.bioware.c...s/?sf45886082=1
That's definitely DA. Whether or not it's DA4 is the question.

You think maybe the Tactics game they bandied about a while back?
You think maybe the Tactics game they bandied about a while back?
That's certainly one guess.
The thing about the tactics game is it probably would've had to of been well into it's development before they tweeted asking how folks would feel about it. I don't think they'd put something like that book (which I assume is concept art or something) together that quickly.
And here i thought i wouldn't get hyped for the next one....
They sure have really fancy internal documents...
If this is indeed some kind of teaser for the new DA game, this year's E3 might turn out to be really interesting.
(I wouldn't mind some kind of standalone expansion of Inquisition, though I know that the game is considered to be 100% done and closed.)
Don't forget that red is also usually the DA color...
(Yes, I know the DAI color was fade-touched green because of the Breach and Anchor and all that.)
With all the talk about DA4 having a potential 4-5 year wait, I would hope that teasing the next DA would mean an earlier release. ( I'm not encouraging a rushed game, but if we could get an amazing game sooner than expected then I'm not complaining!). A girl can hope!
I am in agreement.
Dragon Age II was released in March 2011 and Inquisition was released in November 2014 - That is 3 years 6 months between releases. In that time, they experimented and developed on a the new Frostbite 3 engine, which surely slows development and opens up many opportunities for them. It has now been 1 year and 6 months since the Inquisition, and if they are not jumping engines again, which I highly doubt, then most of development should be in development of story, characters, etc. and most likely some graphical improvements. I believe they could build a great game and have it release in beginning of 2018. That is 2 years away - a total of 3 years and 4 months roughly, and if they did no development for DA4 during the production of the DLCs, that would be a total 2 years 6 months roughly in development - which is completely plausible.
or...just wishful thinking on my part, but it would explain the teasing - 2 years out.

I would think that DA4 will have less development time than DAI for the reasons you outline. But I'd hesitate to start the countdown from DAI's initial release; I would be generous and start it from Trespasser's release. The team which remained on DAI after release were concerned with bug fixes and developing the DLCs. Weekes actually became head writer for the series with Trespasser, so I think all of the writing was focused on that rather than planning DA4.
But that still leaves us with six or seven months of development time started!
Maybe they have reconsidered their stance on another expansion in the Dragon Age verse and the new hires and hints are for an expansion that takes place before we take on Tevinter with the new PC in DA4.
An expansion to Weisshaupt where we deal with whatever is going down with the Wardens there and the return of the Griffons and we get to play as either Hawke or the Warden to battle whatever needs to be battled and uncover all the mysteries.
It would be great to have an expansion to Weisshaupt because I would rather it not be a huge subplot that distracts from the main story in DA4 but I also don't want all that interesting stuff to happen off screen where we only find out in letters, codex entries or possible future war table missions.
Plus all those people who have been wanting to play as either the Warden or Hawke again will get their wish.
Finally, the most important part: GRIFFONS
Well, apparently, nothing much was going on with the Wardens there, though, as Hawke is safe and sound in epilogue slides with Varric in Kirkwall and no mention of issues in Weisshaupt occur in Tresspasser, despite the two year gap. I think that possible plot point has been dropped or put on hold. Though, I suppose they could have simply resolved any issues before Hawke(or Warden ally) got there...
Or perhaps Hawke really did make the place explode (as s/he walked away without looking) and no one wants to talk about it?
The protagonist in the next game is going to be a fox hunting the wolf and his pack.
