Yes, really.

6000+

Am I still enjoying myself or just addicted to the promotion grind?

I do still enjoy helping new players and recently took a 300 prestige player through Heartbreaker.

Admittedly I am still grinding out the Slayer challenge and that is what's driving me. So lots of soloing. It will be interesting to see how I feel when only the Banker challenge remains as that is NOT getting completed ever.

Wishing Slayer was retroactive...

Wishing Banker was retroactive...

Arcane Warrior, Avvar, Saarebas and Katari still fun. Rest are meh.

Still not seen a Hakkon drop from a dragon THIS YEAR !

Seems to be a lot of new players on Playstation 4 recently, which is encouraging.

People on BSN still rock.....even Gya.

Discovered Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch), which is a welcome distraction and an awesome name for an actor.

Missing DragonRacer.

Anyone still playing AND enjoying the game?

I've heard about these so-called Hakkon weapons in MP. I think they are just a rumour to drive us noobies mad while we try to get one! (They are my fav weapons in the SP game for the most part.)

According to a certain passive-aggressive, Slayer and Banker are for the hardcore players, whatever that means. Personally, I think it was a case of grasping at straws for "content". If anyone bothered running the numbers, they erred.

Reassuring. I still need Valos, Rime, Bolt, Dancer's Axe and PI...and all I get from dragons are Lyrium-Reinforced Longbows (which is why my book rewards sucked). I only play a few games every couple of days now anyway, so I can probably write that crescent off as never happening.

As for enjoying the game...eh, sometimes.  It's good that some people are, I suppose. But excuse you. Gya is a national treasure.

Still playing on PS4, always looking for someone to play with! (Arguably I am one of said newer players, working a night shift right now so it's hard to get a group :(  )

Grinding until I get my last 3 weapons then I'm done.  Figure I'll get slayer before that happens though, about halfway to that.

I still play, wonder if that was you who carried me through NM Monday night.

Played two rounds of perilous and was having fun, third time through with same group and boom I was sniped by a rogue and down before I could breath.  Was my first nightmare round, also my last for a little while (until I promote a few more warrior types), I don't like to sit in the fade.

At least I did manage to get a kill streak at one point.

I end up carrying a lot of people through nightmare, except lastnight.  Made a leaderboarder carry my butt through while I kept barrier on them.

Maybe you can answer this, last night I was running on Perilous with this person playing Isabela. I don't really know how to explain it, but she/he just ran through each level and as she ran by the baddies just fell over dead. She didn't look to be doing anything but running by. The only time I actually saw her/him do anything other than run was she stopped to hit a giant with her crossbow. The baddies just fell over dead and died. Us running behind her didn't get to do a damn thing cep maybe catch a new baddie that spawned after she had already passed.

How was that possible?

She was using the bolt, which is her hand crossbow.  The normal bolt is very quick and she is very quick as well.

Kind of... I still enjoy it when I play it. But my passion towards this game is dying. It's been too long... :(

How can one check the number of games played?

Regarding the game, I kinda lost the drive to play it. Last time I revisited it (December) it didn't feel at all like what it used to be: no challenge, level 1s rolfstomping NM, everyone using the same armor (which can be called uniform by now) and so on. I do not expected that today things are any different. I miss how things used to be in the past. Anyway, can't say I haven't enjoyed the game though.

Not sure about that.

I've had a good time with DAMP until the dev support ended. Besides the lack of content, the progression system was flawed. I didn't like how there was such a strong emphasis on your promotion level as a way to clear content. I also felt like the whole promotion system / emphasis on rpg had too much of an influence on gameplay mechanics. In other words, you wouldn't be able to clear harder content without good gear because the game purposely didn't give you tools to do so. Some of those mechanics, for instance warrior basic attacks, felt like they were designed for auto-combat rather than action-y gameplay, maybe due to some gameplay decisions that were made too late into the development cycle.

If you're on PS4 and are a fan of Dark Souls (or ds-genre games) make sure to check out the Nioh alpha demo. Some really refreshing combat mechanics. I've lied about my lack of interest in The Division. Picked up the game for $35-ish and spent around 200 hours in it. Superb looter-shooter gameplay, although it severely lacks endgame content. Still trying to figure out what I'll be moving on next.

Also, probably will dump a few DAMP mods I haven't released yet, such as PVP and immersive cam.

Well, it used to be fun. I still have memories of you carrying me in my early days in the game, lol.

I have always had my concerns with the promotion system since it was announced, as it would (and eventually did) benefit some players over others. Maybe it should have had a hard cap at a much lower point (60-ish perhaps), maybe it shouldn't exist altogether. Maybe all you get should be nothing but an increased number - which looks silly, but for me would still be fun enough (that is exactly how it worked in Mass Effect and many players enjoyed promoting).
Unlimited power via promotions is just stupid and game-breaking. Given enough promotions, an Archer can be tankier than a Legionnaire. It defeats the idea of having a balanced, cooperative team. I don't know how on Earth Bioware did not foresee that, unless they didn't really project the game to last more than a few months.
Another concern of mine were the blackscreen issues, day one crap which were never fixed. Yet, I would say that from the moment they fixed the key bug (for the most part) until August-ish the game was very fun. But when it became clear that there was no further content coming out, I really started losing interest.

I've heard some good and not so good things about The Division, but never got into it. If I could pay just 35 bucks here where I live, I might have got into it. Dark Souls doesn't look like my thing to be honest, lol. I am not into this genre of games, I actually got into Dragon Age from Mass Effect.
As for the future, I will probably give Overwatch a try. I always wanted Destiny to come to PC, but since that is probably never happening, Overwatch feels like the next game in that category, or sort of.

They ban you for losing internet connection or CTD... Never heard of any other game that would ban you for reasons like that. Maybe I'm just ignorant... But if you are used to all the crashes and DCs in DAI, I have no idea how one might cope in Dark Souls.

Started playing the most beginning of this year, and yea, the game and the social circles can be a blast. Will continue to play for at least the next few months, but honestly, should another MP game with similar environment(I like dragons, warriors, mages, etc) come along, I wouldn't hesitate to give it a try in order to be a part of that 'new game' bloodline of gamers.

Another game like this will not come along anytime soon.

I have only seen 2 titles like it and PS4 has neither. PC has though if you speak Japanese.....

Love it or hate it...... its all we've got.

My "ears on the street" seem to confirm that EA will invest heavily into DA4 MP if we get a DA4 that is. So hopefully DA4 will have something just as fun if not more so.

I'd be surprised if we didn't get a DA4 (eventually). As for MP, I'm all out of optimism at this point, but I do hope I'll be pleasantly surprised.
