I'm stuck with SQL Server 2005

Hello. Yesterday, I installed SQL Server 2005 because I wanted to create a head morph with my toolset. I was trying to copy the Fergus morph and modify it, but I was struggling to learn how. Creating a morph without a base, opening the Fergus Morph, posting said morph to local and using the local copy on the untitled file obviously didn't do anything. At the end of the day I made no progress. Still determined to create my desired head morph, I waited for the next day to try again.

I logged in today only to see an error telling me that my toolset couldn't open due to a disconnection to the database, therefore it could not open. I opened the SQL server configuration manager only to see that BWDATOOLSET disappeared from Services. That would explain the disconnection. That was when I decided to uninstall. Sadly, SQL Server 2005 is not compatible with Windows 10, therefore I could not uninstall it.

Yes, I have Windows 10. One would think it was a dumb move for installing such an obsolete version of SQL on this machine, but I had no choice in the matter. There was no way for my toolset to connect to the 2014 version. This just doesn't make sense. Dragon Age Toolset shouldn't be able to install something incompatible to Windows 10. Maybe if someone updated the toolset to make it compatible with software from this decade, I wouldn't had to spend 3 days searching for answers only to fail in the end.

I did everything I could. I used my IIS Manager to fix the ASP.NET warning, but the incompatibility was still a problem. I opened Program Compatibility Troubleshooter, but it does not recognize SQL Server 2005 as a valid program. I opened my command prompt to uninstall components to no avail.

And that's my story. If there's actually a method of uninstalling SQL that would actually work on my computer, then I'd grateful if anyone tells me. If not, then let this thread serve as a warning for people who want to use Dragon Age Toolset with Windows 10.

You don't need to use 2005. You can install 2014 for example, or whatever the latest version is (I use 2014 myself on Win 7). You just need a database the toolset can connect to.

As to getting rid of 2005, you may want to start with reading this - https://support.micr...en-us/kb/909967

How do you connect a database to the toolset with 2014?

Also, I don't need to read that article. System Restore deleted 2005 on my computer last night.

See http://forum.bioware...set/?p=19892496 for links about how to get a newer version of SQL Server working with the toolset (refers to 2008R2 but confirmed to work with 2014 in the last post in that thread).
