The dialogue in that video. Is it possible to trigger it without sacrificing the crew?

Sure, just keep 2 missions (can also be N7 missions or DLC missions like Arrival) until after the Suicide mission. Whenever you get a mission complete screen, the game registers one more mission completed and this will trigger and crew member to go to their next dialogue as long as they have new ones.

Clarification: I'm referring to the "You knew about the Reapers" dialogue. It seems like it's only available if you complete all of Legion's conversations before the Suicide Mission. I don't think you can experience all of them before Await IFF Installation triggers the kidnapping of the crew. And once that happens, completing even one mission or assignment kills half of the crew.

So, if the question is if you can hear all of Legion's dialogue without loosing the crew, I don't think it's possible. IIRC, this is Legion's 4th dialogue (not counting the loyalty mission acquisition). According to the wiki, the maximum number of missions you can complete between Legion's activation and the suicide mission is 2 (meaning you can only get to the third dialogue with him before the abduction). So that would make it impossible but I am not 100% sure on this.

I'll keep an eye on this during my current playthrough. It seems like I've seen that line before, but I can't remember how. I actually don't think I've seen it in a very long time, which means something is wrong. BioWare really screwed up Legion's availability.

well (I believe there was a point in ME2's development when ew could effectively recruit our crew in whatever order we wanted but I think that got changed later not sure though whether this is affected by this or what though.

I believe if you go after the Reaper IFF before you've recruited enough squad members, you can wind up getting two or more missions in before the crew are abducted.  However, this route means that you will certainly have squad members who are not loyal and I'm not sure whether you can arrange the order (also considering the 5-mission limit that triggers the Collector Ship) such that you can have enough key members loyal and all the ship upgrades to ensure no one dies and also wind up being able to even recruit everyone in the default game (i.e. everyone except Zaeed and Kasumi).  It would, at the very least, take some very careful planning.

 

I'm not sure whether or not I've heard the exact same lines after the Suicide Mission even though I frequently do hold back a couple of N7 missions after the SI just to be able to finish off conversing with Legion.
