Worst mistake you've made? Can you elaborate (with spoiler tags if it actually affects something else in-game)?



I agree that the whole premise behind discount system is uncharacteristic for Shepard, especially a Paragon Shepard. Walking into stores and saying I'll give you an endorsement for a discount then doing the same thing in every other store on the Citadel seems shady. Especially since you record the same endorsement for each store. Maybe that's something a Renegade Shepard would do, but I felt ashamed having my Paragon Shepard do this and a bit disgusted that I received Paragon points for defrauding every establishment on the Citadel. I don't think this aspect of the game was thought through very well.

don't they all sell different types of items? I know im stretching but its a loophole that could work.

If you do it for one, you'll be fine. If you do it for many, expect repercussions in ME3.

It makes me laugh so much, because almost every store on the citadel has my shepard saying that as he passes by

lol ah yes, that is quite annoying, especially when it overrides a conversation you are listening to inside the store.



Adain878, if the endorsement wasn't the exact same line for every store (see the thread title), it would be more believable.



Examples:

I'm Commander Shepard, and this is where I shop for weapons when I need to save the Galaxy.

I'm Commander Shepard, and this is where I shop for Tech/Medical Supplies/etc to help me keep the Galaxy safe.

I was really, really tempted to make a thread with this exact title. Really, the whole citadel after you talk with Anderson is just hilarious. The cheesy grin he has when he records the line is absolutely priceless. I was only marginally amused though, until I did the last one at the big game hunting tour shop, after which the shopkeep walked off saying, "No other gun shop on the citadel has an endorsement like this!"



Technically it was true (since he was the only gun shop I did that at), but every other shop on the citadel has the same endorsement. >_>

yeeeaaah I didn't even realize it was going to record the same message until I did it twice. Hopefully that won't bite me in the second game. It's definitely a little weird to record the same message over and over...

I prefer the Renegade version personally. Veiled threats or accusing the shop keeper of speciesism. So much fun.

Same here.  It's harmless, kind of funny and besides, we're only trying to save galactic civilzation.... AGAIN, so what's the harm in getting a deal.  It's not like you're robbing the place.

Besides the fact that during and after doing it as a Paragon Shepard it felt wrong? One of the points of a character-driven game made by BW is to evoke emotion in the player. Well, they certainly have.

That's how I justified it in my mind. As a Para I felt it was kinda shady as well the first time, but then the second time I felt REALLY dirty for giving the same endorsement. But I was thinking that technically it is my favorite store on the citadel (of that type lol). It would be nice if they would have added that extra line like another poster mentioned. Just add the "... my favorite weapons shop" or "... my favorite hobby shop".

Oh well, but if you think about even the "good" people irl try to get deals when they can. As Para I'd much rather use my "Hero" status to get a discount than threaten them

Yeah i think its funny too, little things like this in the game make is so worth playing lol
