It's not worth it.
I was a big fan of mass effect multiplayer, but dragon age multiplayer turned out to be a major disappointment. I'm sure the idea is appealing in theory, but it was demolished by inferior net coding and bad programming. It's nigh on impossible to join a match without disconnecting or getting stuck in infinite load. And if you try starting a match on your own, you're in for a long wait.
Here's what it's like trying to play dragon age multiplayer, and it's been like that since launch.
When you ask for help, you're offered some non-functional solution that involves setting some ports to something ... because clearly it's up to the players to get a game feature to work , right?
Besides, the classes are so imbalanced, it's laughable.
And you want a cool item? Good luck. You're in RNG Hell.
Is it viable for a new player?

2 quick questions:
-Is there a necromancer guide i could read? i don't understand how i am expected to play this. Something with panic theme? Doesn't it wear off after 1 hit?
-The qunari character has strength bonus skills. Is that helpful somehow for a caster?

Walking Bomb is the spell you want. Hit something squishy near other enemies and enjoy the fireworks when it dies. Wouldn't recommend Horror unless you really need something to drop aggro. Take Death Siphon for survivability, maybe Ice Armor with Ice Mine or Blizzard if you need the damage reduction. Not a fan of safety builds myself. YouTube might be better to find builds/guides, though.

Not really. Guard damage bonus is the only cross-class benefit to strength, as far as I know.

They were just to lazy to adjust the skill for a mage they just copied it from the warriors ![]()
Btw I use Horror all the time (well upgraded) dot ticks a nearly as high as Walking Bomb. If placed well you can hit a lot of enemies at once ![]()

Noob question: Is it possible to get health on kill for a dagger user? All the other weapons seem to get cloth upgrades but i don't remember seeing any for dagger. I mean i can get like 4% from 2 rings but isn't that a bit low? (slightly more with 5% healing belt)

Bloody Bargain has 17% heal on kill. That's the only built-in form of HoK for dagger rogues that I know of.
There's also blue/purple HoK rings for 5%/10% heals, respectively.

Also theres Lady Jacosta's dagger which has heal on hit I think. Best for an elemental mines or similar alchemist, but would be handy if you haven't got anything else, and possibly easier to get a hold of than bloody bargain.

According to THE spreadsheet: https://docs.google....LHBNMM/pubhtml#
only 3 daggers: Dagger of the Dragon, Wicked Grace & Bloody Bargain has the Heal on Kill property built in at 4%, 5% and 17% respectively. Dagger grip upgrades do not use cloth, therefore does not have HoK as upgrade. The Superb Ring of Life-Drain gives you 10% HoK. Lady Jocasta's Revenge gives Heal 1% of Maximum health on hit.

At least once a day I will forget to map a new spell/ability and it really frustrates me. I feel like I am letting the team down and as I do it so much I have no one to blame expect myself.
Last night we were doing a Duffy FC run will all NON-warriors. We get to 3/5 and SIX, yes SIX giants spawned all at the same time. I think the game does that crap on purpose! Between them and the seeming non-stop Qunari axe wielding maniacs, I couldn't believe we got through it.
Same. Some actually autofill, most do not when you add the ability that is mappable. Not sure why it doesn't auto-add if there are empty slots. Reason this is an issue is because people who care don't want to hold up the group any longer than necessary when adding points so they add and rush out to start session. That leaves many with no points and I've found myself bailing out at times as I simply cannot contribute without early ability access.
I'd also like to add as a related point that someday it would be nice to be able to macro and use more than 4 abilities at any one time. I appreciate it makes you choose, however I come from a Warcraft MMO background where I've built and managed sets of 10-15 regularly used abilities with active rotations for different situations. being stuck with only 4 abilities is a downside imo. It is what it is, my preference is for more. Even SP offers a 2nd set of abilities (still limited imo but workable)
Back to the initial concern, what could be implemented is more a default spot for a 'button' for an ability which can only be over-ridden manually. I use the same slots for my rogues every time, it would be nice for that to autofill unless i manually change my preference.

Being real here, ME3MP was a lot more broken and never fixed than DAIMP. DAIMP does crash often not as much as ME3MP and the lobby system is a magnitude better but still needs work (
mute mic). ME3MP IS a better MP experience but DAIMP IS fun.
What WOULD make things better would be having better host support/net tech that reduces/removes lag. I am forced to pay Sony $80 a year for MP and I still get a crappy system... ME3MP did not require PS PLUS and still had equal or better hosting on user side. If I'm paying for servers (??? What the **** AM I paying for exactly with PS PLUS...) then Biovare should really use that if they choose to let Sony screw us like this by making us have to use PS PLUS.
Can you tell i am no PS PLUS fan? I've played MP games online for a LONG time and never had to pay for use of servers like this until I bought the PS4 (I'd debate the WoW subscription if you want). I wonder if most of these errors stem from having users host lobbies... For the record i don't blame users for lag, we are all put in the same paradigm.

What do I mean?
If you fall into the trap, like many people have, of finding a strong character and playing it over and over and over and over and over just to get stronger you will end up hating this game. You will spend hundreds of hours just trying to boost stats instead of having fun.
I am one of those people.
You strive to get powerful. You wish you were stronger. Like Medallian you want to have god like stats. You want to reach the pinnacle all the high level players are at. You know what's there?
Nothing.
Biggest anti climax since my wife said "You're done already?". There are some right Aholes at the top of that LB on PS4 I can tell you. You reach the top and think, that's it? Don't get hung up on the LB or your stats.
To say this game promotes repetition is an understatement. I have gone through spells where I hate playing but do it anyway so I can "get stronger and play characters I like"
My advice, through hindsight, is just play what you find fun and stick to the difficulty level you feel comfortable with. In that regard yes, it is not only viable for new players, but can be great fun for new players.
I have fun with the game now I have high stats but noone in their right mind is going to throw 18 months at this game like I did.
TL;DR
It's viable. Just try to have fun.
