Should there be an option to switch between first person and third person view?

Battlefront has it, GTA has it, MGS5 has it and it works well. I know people will be against it but hey, when I get my Handsome Jack on and strangle an alien in Andromeda, I want to see up close.

It's called aiming. You should try it sometime.

I have never though that ME needed a first person view.

First-person doesn't work in cover-based shooters, unless you switch to third-person whenever the character enters cover (as in Deus Ex: Human Revolution). In any case, I see no reason to add first-person to Mass Effect. Third-person is enough.

Sorry, just correcting it to get rid of the weakest link in the chain. Stupid GTA V :P

In terms of the question itself...

No.

Only if there was an option to lock it into 3rd person.

First person view benefits shooting but there is more to deal with in Mass Effect. There is exploration, talking to NPCs and other aspects that only third person view can handle better in my opinion. That being said, I'm not really looking forward for this feature.

I've never liked talking to NPCs in first person. It somehow makes me feel a little disconnected from them. :P That's why I was happy when Fallout 4 had cutscene-like things. Much better than Fallout 3's conversation system, even if you get less options.

Maybe in the future. Could be interesting. Hmmm. They'd have to do it more like halo with stronger Shields. But a first person Mass Effect that can be changed back and forth. What's not to like? What ever happened to open mindedness?

I'd rather it be one or the other.  But I probably wouldn't care if there was a toggle via a button / key.  I wouldn't want it to be automatic.

No, I find first person to be disorienting. I like seeing my feet.

I think the "no" voters are assuming that if's more than just a camera change, since the existing combat system wouldn't play well on 1st-person. But just doing an optional camera change? Sure, why not?

No it would be an unnecessary feature.  ME is designed to be a tps not fps.  It's mediocre at best in GTA 5 and I never really use it.

No thanks. Last thing we need is the superior ME being tainted by FPS games which are inferior to ME in every single way

MGS5 has it and it works well.

MGSV has it only when you aim down sights, go through tight spaces, and in cutscenes.

It has it because of functionality and to a lesser extent plot.

I don't see how Mass Effect could benefit from first person view aside from cutscenes.

The truth is that Mass Effect is mediocre at best, KotorEffect3. ME fanboys like yourself maybe blinded to your fandom but some of us are not so blinded.
