I participated in the ME3 multiplayer gold glitch on PS3 back in the day. My psn friends did like 10 matches before it shut down, and I only did one. Hence why they could unlock the n7 slayer by buying top tier packages. If you quit on the 6th round or something and shut the game down you got like, 9,999 credits or something.

I'll always play vanilla on the first playthrough or so. I don't think I've ever used cheats for ME though and I never use godmodes in BioWare games.

But in DAO - I've used mods like "Skip The Fade" and some cool, user-designed armor that was a little OP. Sometimes I'd give myself some extra money too.

In DA2 - Maybe the odd time some extra money and ability slots, but that's it.

In DAI - Sometimes mat replication (if I don't feel like farming), extra money (no need with the Golden Nug though) and extra inventory slots. And since I like to wander around OOB, I use a trainer that allows me to jump over the invisible walls (better than dismount-hacking).

I started most of their games on console, so there isn't much cheating to be done.

However, I'm considering duping an amulet of power if I can.. for Cass. It's so bogus how it's set up now. I haven't played in a long time, and I understand why it was patched for the previous duping.. but they've made getting these amulets no better now. Some are done literally at random (like one of hers is tied to the Grand Cleric Iona quest.. which doesn't always show).

Never in any ME installment or playthrough. Never felt the need -- though a mod that lets you avoid doing planet surveys and mining would have been great. In ME1, a Mako fast-travel mod would have been good too ... so much time to drive from point A to point B!

Never in DA:O.

Not in the first/canon playthrough of DAI, but afterwards I've used:

1) Save scumming to pick and choose the loot from chests
2) Loot-1 exploit to get unlimited mats and items-for-gold
3) OOB glitches, but only for exploring, not to short-cut a quest (though that is possible)
4) Kiting to make some boss battles easier when under-leveled
5) Cheesing to make some boss battles easier after the dozenth time through

I haven't used item duplication in the Storage chest, mainly because I could only get 1 success out of 20 tries, so wasn't really a time saver.

(All of the above can be done on console, BTW. PC Master Race not required to take advantage of in-game exploits.)

I haven't used CE.

All of the above were to save time and done mostly before the Golden Nug. Now with the Golden Nug, I don't do any save scumming for schematics, there's no need.

EDIT: I told a lie. I did use an OOB glitch to get to Vinsomer before Level 16, for a Dragon Slayer speedrun.

To be more specific, I did the CLUA console whilist making a Kensai/Mage because I had stockpiled mage scrolls to dual class but it only got me to like level 12 when I needed to be 18 for the Kensai/Mage thing to work. I beat BG2 legitimately at some point as well without any of that I think I just played a straight Kensai, as well as a straight mage, straight paladin, and well, other things.

I have to say, the Inquisitor Paladin is the best spec in that game.

lol... I don't blame you. I must've added a good 10 hours to my playthrough just for reloading/scouring the chests.

I have never cheated in any Bioware game (In fact not in any game). Not in my nature to cheat.

For DAO environmental mods were a must  because the game was  clumsy and woody and the landscapes were all identical tapestry of copy/paste forests, tunnels and sewers

Oh yeah I also use extra dog slot for DAO. Not to make combat easier, but I just don't want to miss out on using him whilst still taking along three other party members. And I do use the CE but that is to combat the banter bug. Banter on command ftw!

Only one time I cheated in a Bioware game, on Dragon Age Origins I followed a guide that told you how to get the cheats console so I could get rid of my glitched "Animate Dead" skeleton who for some reason glitched as indestructable and followed me no matter where I was <_<

It turned out the cheats wouldn't even work, but finally I tried to cast dispel on him and it worked! No more skeleton following me around the party camp! Kinda an obvious fix but I was slow to pick it up xD

DAO: Yes. Only one I've modded - only to skip the fade and to make my character look prettier with better hairstyles and that's basically it.

I gave myself a bunch of minerals in ME2 to skip the planet scanning. And in DAO and DA2 I gave myself some extra XP to start off with - which doesn't actually make the game significantly easier with level scaling, but makes the early game more fun.

Plus the odd mildly OP item mod.

Mmm I only have the deluxe edition and you make me realize that during my replay I could try cheat by removing some level up if that's possible.

I haven't. I wouldn't know how :P

That's the point I'm often too lazy to investigate this and balance myself the game. I remind only NWN where I used the console to overcome a bug, not really a cheat. It's possible I used a cheat but it was just a quick fix and I forgot. The only "cheat" is generally lower difficulty level for a combat.

Yes, absolutely.

DA2 is boring and I don't like the combat much, so I cheat.

DA:I combat is quite fun but my laptop can BARELY run it so I'd rather cheat than play fair with my shitty FPS and extreme lag.

Nothing better to kill combats fun than pure cheating or just want have them in your back.

DA2 combats have a much more sophisticated design, those of DAI aren't bad but they are just a small pack of enemies thrown in feet of player, at least for 95% of them. At reverse 95% of DA2 combats have a polished design of each exactly like DAO.

Context of both games is different but it's still quite a weakness of DAI even if combats and combat system aren't bad.

I never use anything but cosmetic mods in my first playthroughs. Afterwards I use some mods to make things more comfortable, like extra dog slot in DAO (I love my dog), skip Ostagar (it becomes boring if you are like me and love creating new characters).

Apart from that I use bugfix mods and armors for aestethics, but not much more.

I only cheated once in a game and that was Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines. That game was so bugged, that my character was stuck in walls in very inconvenient moments (like the zombie house or when the werewolf attacked you at the park), so I had to turn on god mode, to jump through said walls in order to be able to continue playing. That game has a lot of very weird bugs - some of them can be game breaking. There are great fan patches for that, but if you have a skin mod installed or if you swapped skins ( I used to play a Malkavian with the female Tremere skin) funny things could happen, like that wall stucking :D

Nothing in 2 or Inquisition, but in Origins I used the toolset to change the items that had bugged stats, like the add % healing etc to something that was useful.

Also the ancient elven...boots, I think, since they never appeared for me in the Lothering Chantry.

That was it, though.

I mostly never use cheats during first playthrough , and when I usually use cheats it means I'm bored and it's the beginning of the end.

Anyway in DAO I've used the Skip the Fade mod , also I had an item killing all hostiles for a couple of hours.

I've never cheated in DA2.

In DAI I've played a couple of hours with a skip waiting time on the wartable mod , and I did cheat on my main playthrough before the DLC were available , I use a cheat engine and gave myself lots and lots of gold.It was for the Black Emporium ...

Thing is I had a playthrough doing almost all the things , and the Black emporium ruined me ...I wanted to see the items , and I could get the gold using the wartable and spamming the get gold mission for hours and hours , but that just seemed daft , so I cheated and didn't even felt bad for one second.

Depends on what you define as cheating. If by cheating you mean legitimate exploits like reload cancelling, then yes. Otherwise, no.

At first I tried to go vanilla on my first try of DAI but the goddamn game was such a fvcking tedious grinding chore that I just cheated. Complete war table missions immediately. Increased the number of Influence and Power to buy all perks from completing a single war table mission and unlock all locations and missions at once. Infinite Gold. Crafting Supply where I can simply buy all best crafting materials. Buy all schematics. Increased inventory capacity. 99 healing potions. Spam Ability. Infinite stamina/mana. Infinite Focus. Infinite Guard and Barrier. Infinite Resurgence Spell. Instant Level 27. Fvck everything vanilla.

LOL  :D  ;)

I don't count that as cheating you make the environment just a little nicer.
