Depends on how you define cheating. Because while I have never done god mode or anything like that, I have looked up a few walkthroughs. Mostly for tedious things like why I couldn't open all of the halla doors in Halamshiral (turns out they were meant to be that way), but there was one occasion where I looked up an approval guide.

But other than that, no cheating. If I did I wouldn't feel as accomplished.

I don't consider reading walkthroughs a cheat so you are in the clear  ;)

But that's me who's talking a noob

Not on first playthroughs.

DAO - extra dog slot, grey wardens of ferelden (armor), skip the fade and just recently the golden egg so that I could friend Oghren all over again in Awakening

I'm using that armor mod for the first time and I really like it. It wasn't until getting the dragon plate armor from Wade that Alistair got something else to wear. My character picked up Duncan's WC armor in Return to Ostagar to replace her scout armor too. It actually makes me feel like I'm really playing a Warden. Kind of silly though, wearing it while running around Denerim.

Might have to check out that egg one since Oghren's approval is so wonky in Awakening. I try to carry over all the booze I can and then just feed it to him until it's gone.

I used an exploit in the first KOTOR to turn Carth and Mission into Jedi.

I also use various mods whenever I play BG2.  Most notable in my mind is the one that prevents party members from killing each other.  I like being able to keep CN Anomen and Aerie in the party at the same time.

I love it too the only time I don't like it is when you have dialogue options like "how do you know we're grey wardens?" haha

And I give Alistair the armor you get from the possesed warden (Sophia?) in the other DLC and take the dragon armor for myself xD

And yeah it's time consuming since it only gives +1 but hopefully in future I'll be smart enough to give less gifts in origins and carry them over :P

Cheat. Yes. Usually to get more money. For KOTOR, ME 1 and 2, get more credits. More resources for ME 2 because scanning planets become a dread bore after a while.

For DAO and DA II. Money. God mode for DA II because the boring cookie dungeons and horde mode are not an inspiration to adventuring in an honest manner.

The funny thing is I didn't cheat any for ME 3 and DAI. Neither did I cheat for the much older games; BG, NWN.

P.S. Hmm, I forgot I did cheat with ME3. I used the MEHEM for obvious reason. Played 3 times, I think. First time; complete disbelief with the last 15 mins, conclusion and moronic DLC message. I reloaded a save before that last run, play again because of disbelief, and it apparently read as a second PT. The third time was for the happy ending.

I did not know you could do that turn Mission and Garth into Jedi.

Oh, boy... Well... I don't remember ever cheating during my first playthrough in any game, unless the mods that add extra hair options and such count. Afterwards, however...

In Baldur's Gate, I roll the dice so long until I get my character stats I am happy with. That can take many, many throws.

I cheated my way through Neverwinter Nights as regards my character's alignment. I wanted to play a druid, but this class only allows you to level up with Neutral alignments. I, being the goddamn goody two shoes that I am, can never keep the neutral alignment for long, though. (The evil points tend to be somewhat scarce, too.) I also think it's silly we can't have nice or mean druids. What's up with that? So I added some points here and there to keep my character Neutral despite otherwise swaying towards good or evil with their actions.

I also exploited NWN's companions. If you keep a companion in your party, they eventually tell you more things about themselves as the story progresses. You get their trust. In the end, they give you an item with great stats as a gift. What I did is that I picked them up in the tavern after the story progressed, talked to them right there and then until they ran out of dialogue, then eventually collected the awesome item. Afterwards I dropped the companion and moved onto another. I always returned to my favourite companion and left the tavern with them, though, wearing all the cool trinkets and leaving all my suddenly gained friends behind. (I did enjoy talking to them, though.) Something tells me the game wasn't meant to be played that way... ahem.

In NWN2, I thought it was unfair that all the companions had extra skill points, so I added a few to my character to "even it out".

Not sure I will ever repeat the NWN and NWN2 ones on new playthroughs, but I have done those things before and have no excuse.  :pinched:

In DAO, I like adding more armours and weapons. However, I usually try to delevel them with other mods so that their stats are much more reasonable. The fact is, however, that the bonuses (which I haven't figured out how to lower or remove just yet) remain and are quite generous on some of those items. My intention is mostly to get stuff that looks good rather than being OP, though. (I increase the difficulty to even it out sometimes, too.) I even used some armours that barely had any decent stats, just because I thought it fit the character. However, yeah, I do that.

In DAII... Hm. I can't remember much besides the fact that I once tried to add more rivalry points to Isabela so that I could see her return with the Tome for goddamn ONCE. It didn't work, though. Not even on 100% rivalry. Hell, I tried. Honestly and dishonestly. I don't know any more. Screw that criminal scum.

In DAI, I use the Cheat Engine to turn my character's staff into the Sunless Staff... because she doesn't officially go through Champions of the Just (It's part of my headcanon for that character, though.), but that staff is just so pretty and thus I need it for reasons.

In Mass Effect 3, I unlock the Citadel DLC's armour that you get by winning the Armax Arena. I have already played through and won that, but when you start a new playthrough, you have to do it all over again. Given that I like to play the DLC at the end of the game, I'd have to wait for the armour the entire game and then would barely get to use it. So I unlock it at the start of the game instead so I can use it as I see fit.

That's all I can remember at the moment.

BG2 was the king of cheesy combat...did you ever read this:

http://www.sorcerers...tuff/Cheese.htm

D&D combat of that era generally is either pure power-game cheese or basically being trolled by useless abilities.

The closest I got to cheating was importing high level characters in NWN or BG when I first started playing (like level 3-4 for when you were supposed to be level 1) because I hate low level D&D combat.

Doesn't the NWN OC scale?

I think it doesn't. Raw levels aren't as important as a slightly bigger HP pool and - for mages - spells.

Way back in Baldur's Gate, I cheated when I first started the game and had no idea how to play. After the first playthrough, I understood, and the only time I ever did it again was to give myself an 18 INT in Throne of Bhaal to do that one Saradush quest where you need it. Also, I tricked out Cernd to get a few more physical points, although that was for balance's sake.

In Neverwinter Nights, I changed the editor to give myself a team of 12 in Storm of Zehir. Loads of fun that.

In Dragon Age 2, I cheat (and still cheat) the dead Hawke sibling back into the game once I get Varric. Aside from a little difficulty on the party change screen (Bethany and Carver clip, so you have to move to the right of Carver to get him), it works just fine.

Haven't cheated in any of the others.

Duplication of items to sell for gold and to give my characters a few extra power ups. Tomes are tops at 3 gold each, so selling 90 will give you 270-300 k in gold. Early on I'll duplicate lyrium potions and injury kits to sell for gold. I also did it with DA2 early on before they removed the exploit in that game, so now will simply use the fortune runes to make money.

I only played that once, and had to use imported level 20 characters from the main campaign in order to be able to do anything besides get killed. Despite not liking the game much, having a team of 4 badass Knight Captains was pretty fun.

In NWN2, I've never played the entire game with a standard party. I use console commands to allow the max so everyone can come along if I want them to. You have to re-set it at the beginning over every act though. I also cheat approval since the system is messed up.

Of course. Except godmode, that would be like boring and stuff.

I only did one cheat in ME1 for better equipment I think it was(was so long ago). The combat was infuriating(especially coming from ME2 first) I hated the ME1 gameplay so much I was just doing it for the story choices.

Never needed to do it in Dragon Age though. The Dragon Age gameplay was slow but not infuriating.

I bet that i am the greatest cheater of you all i cheat so much i can write a book about it . I use godmode when i can ( even in my first playthroughs i don't care ) all the time or to get more money or better armor or better weapons like the one hit one kill kinda weapons ( it's more realistic anyway then when you have to shoot an enemy like 60 times before he dies ) or for example in Skyrim i use a cheat ( it's more like a glitch i think ) in that game that you become invisible for your enemies. Even when i shoot my enemies they do not see me it's so much fun and even the deer and other animals cannot see me. I sometimes stand in front of an elk or a deer of course in sneakmode then i stand up and say boo and the elk then runs away with his tiny tail between his legs that's just a lot of fun again i can write a book about it .

LOL well maybe you are after reading this and i am not taking that bet it's to much of a risk that i might loose .

Another question from me to you is why why would you cheat in your first playthroughs ?

I used that glitch as well to become invisible in Skyrim and you are right it is fun .

Oh i am not a die hard gamer as you maybe are so even if i play in the easy mode i die a lot ( the games nowadays are not that easy ) and i hate that i don't want to do a certain part of a level over and over again to finally defeat my enemy. I just want to have fun and i am not having fun if i die a lot that is just so frustrating.  So that is the main reason that i cheat and use godmode or one hit one kill weapons to defeat my enemies.

I have never cheated in any BioWare game from Neverwinter Nights on. I haven't had any real desire or reason to.

In both Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II I have used cheats very frequently, but for one specific reason: to give sufficient XP to new party members to level them up to the point that the last party member died at. I like to play both of those games through with a full party and make a new party member whenever one dies, so that's the only really sane way to go about that; otherwise you end up with one character much higher levelled than the others, and it really doesn't work out. I've also occasionally used cheat codes to solve pathing problems. So yeah, nothing I'd consider really cheating per say, but using cheat codes, yes.

If cheats would solve any of the annoyances I have with gameplay in DA II, DA:I, ME 2, or ME 3, I would... but unfortunately, they wouldn't. As such, I've no wish to use them.

Absolutely. I played through normally once, afterward it's Ashes of Death/Litany of Adralla when dealing with mooks. Ain't nobody got time for that. Only bosses deserve actual fighting (Except the Varterral. **** that thing. Never going to fight it again without cheating).

I also installed the Skip the Fade mod on the first run once I lost patience with that ****.

I also respec companions as soon as I get them. Leliana doesn't need bard, I make her a ranger. Morrigan's shapeshifting is useless so she gets spirit healer. And I always get rid of Herbalism and other pointless skills. Never made a trap or a poison in my life.

I also got some ridiculously OP extra spells in Origins.

Edit: this forum is for violent, 18+ games and it ***'s out bad words? Pathetic.

Yes i use this cheat which is the equivalent of the Dragon Age avada kedavra
It is pronounced in this way:

"Runscript  killallhostiles"

effect= all enemies dead instantly.
