The Archdemon would drop kick the lyrium dragon back to where it came from without much of a problem.

Indeed, always go with the genuine article.

The Archdemon.
1) It is most likely stronger than the Lyrium Dragon to begin with, considering that it is the genuine thing as opposed to a copy intended to mock the old gods.
2) Even if it isn't the Lyrium Dragon can't kill it and it has infinite tries to kill the lyrium Dragon.
Edit: 3) Unlike Dragons, Archdemons actually posess a high enough level of sentinence to at least form battle strategies.

Archdemon hands down I think a more interesting battle would be a Archdemon vs Dragon Hakkon

Probably still the Archdemon, since he still can't die and has infinite tries, unless Hakkon pulls a Grey Warden out his a*s.

Archdemon never truly loses except against Grey Wardens. Like has been said, Archdemon's are actually pretty clever, at least enough to lead the darkspawn horde to the surface and gather them in vast numbers for large battles. I don't think the red lyrium dragon could command an army ![]()

Archdemon, not only is it the genuine article but it would take a warden to kill it off permanently.

Evidences?
Urthemiel was relatively small compared to the red lyrium dragon and was severely damaged by one single Grey warden.
Gamplay wise he is no better than the High dragon into the temple of Sacred Ashes.
Aside from the calling ability archdemons are just dragons while red lyrium provide supernatural strenght.
It would come to life repeatly to kill the Lyrium Dragon, so it would automatically wins this without a contest.

Let's see.
The Red Lyrium Dragon is a High Dragon, meaning it is potentially not that old, but still powerful. As a Dragon, she is bestial, a smart beast, but not sentient. She is augmented with Red Lyrium, which is Lyrium, a powerful magic enhancer, mutated by the Blight to offer physical power augmentation to super-hero levels. She also contains part of an Ancient Magister's soul, whatever that means. Mechanically, she is the same as a dragon but with a Red Lyrium infused Spirit Fire.
An Archedemon is allegedly an Old God, and unlike all High Dragons, is 'male.' I believe Razikale is hinted at being female, but not sure. The most similar being we have met thus far besides the real deal is Hakkon, which is a spirit possessed Great Dragon. Unlike a High Dragon or Great Dragon, these enhanced god dragons are sentient. The Archedemon can command a massive army through the Taint which infects it. The Taint is hinted by Emissary codex entries and Avernus to be a power source outside of the Fade, offering unique abilities, both physical and magical, and immortality (the kind where if you kill it with out specific actions, it comes back). Mechanically, Urthemiel was the same as a High Dragon, but weaker, and with Purple Spirit Fire. Mechanics are deceptive though.
I'd assume an Archedemon, a sentient god-level Dragon could beat the Red Lyrium enhanced High Dragon. Yet, I differ from everyone else, I think it is pre-mature to assume the Red Lyrium Dragon could not kill an Archedemon. A Warden can kill an Archedemon because of the Taint and possibly because of some vague soul calculus that has never been confirmed (1 + 1 = dead) but only contradicted (Anders and Justice, Flemythal, Avvar stuff, how we kill Corypheus), I'd assume that as she is infected with Red Lyrium, a Tainted substance and possesses part of a soul, that she could function as a "god's bane" and kill an Archedemon for real.

Isn't the red Lyrium tainted?

If the Red lyrium kill the Archdemon then his soul will jump into the red lyrium and collide with Corypheus soul.
So they'd basically kill each other, is what your saying...

Well, if we consider that red lyrium is lyrium that has the blight, and the red lyrium dragon is full of the stuff, then it is a blighted creature, therefore, if it did kill an archdemon, the soul of the archdemon would move to the red lyrium dragon. Now either it lives on as another archdemon, with the added boost of the pwer of redlyrium, or like a grey warden, it dies, thus killing the archdemon. More likely it lives on so, no matter which kills which first, ultimately the archdemon wins, it either simply kills the lyrium dragon, or it takes over the lyrium dragon if it's body is killed.

I don't know?
The red lyrium dragon in theory has half of a soul +one so things would be a little complicated.....
theirs fusion of souls could also create another abomination...
Well that ain't good.

But if we consider red lyrium infection to have any the same effect as the normal blight wouldn't the Archdemon be able to control the red lyrium Dragon and basically just tell him to fly full force against a mountainside or something?
Anyways I see no way for the red lyrium Dragon to win this. At best one where mutual destruction occurs.
