So, if you had to pick between the Qunari conquering the world, or Solas getting rid of the Veil which would you pick?

We don't know everything about Solas's plan to lower the Veil, so this is just based on what we know.

I for one would prefer to see the world reboot without the Veil rather than see it under the heel of the Qunari.

With the Veil gone, all surviving creatures regain their natural conscious connection to the Fade, if applicable. Magical wonders like the Crossroads could again be created and utilized. New magical tools against the Blight could be made possible. Surviving races could get a chance to learn from past mistakes and take different paths moving forward.

With the Qun, everyone's a number. A worker ant in an ant hive. That's no way to live.

This is purely hypothetical, I'm not implying this is a choice we may have to make later on in the Dragon Age story.

I will take the reboot. The Qun seems too much North Korea for me.

1) Theodosians have pushed backed the Qunari onslaught multiple times in history with the aid of mages. It has been done before and it can be done again.

2) The removal of the Veil will result in the Evanuris, the Taint and powerful demons like the Nightmare being released upon the world. It will also result in the reawakening of the Titans.

Both suck but Thedas has beaten the Qunari before but it has not been able to deal with ancient Elven Gods, the Taint, Nightmare Demon and the Titans.

Qunari Invasion is bad , but still I'd take Qunari over the apocalypse .

You may recover from being converted , recovering from death isn't an option.

Really depends on how both are like in practice. Either way people will adapt--even if they may not be better or happier for it. But life will live on (unless the blight or something comes in and exterminates the world).

But I think i'd take the dangerous veil-less world over Qunari domination any day of the week.

At least with the veil you can be a person of your own mind, the qunari are too much  a well-oiled government machine. They will either outright kill you, brainwash you or make you a vegetable where you will "live" as a labor slave if you refuse or can't adhere to their Qun. The qunari are exceptionally good at enforcing their rules and regulations. Frighteningly so.

We know that life without a veil is possible, so that's something. But I think everyone knows the transition to it, after such a long time, will be catastrophic for the modern thedosians. But still, i'd take that over the Qunari.

(10) I covered my face, fearful,
But the Lady took my hands from my eyes,
Saying, “Remember the fire. You must pass
Through it alone to be forged anew.
Look!  Look upon the Light so you
May lead others here through the darkness,
Blade of the Faith!

From The Chant of Light, the Canticle of Exaltations

I for one, look forward to having my character forged anew to look upon the Light the Fade, and to lead others there through the darkness. I mean if you read into Exaltations, the Chantry has been singing the Chant for a thousand years to call back the Maker and Andraste to get rid of the Veil, and restore balance to the world, whether they realized it or not.

Just my interpretation of course. :D

Qunari conquering the world. Might finally bring some order to Thedas.

I loathe the Qun so bring down the veil. Although, I don't really find that ideal either. :/

For me personally, I would prefer the Qun. Demons are too scary and destructive. And Solas comparison to kids drowning in a river puts me off.

Finding enjoyment in duty sounds manageable and if the Qunari defeat everyone they would hopefully start focusing on the efficient clockwork living. Sounds like an okay life for me. Not for others maybe, but for me. And the Qunari have monkeys and the old elves sounded like jerks anyways.

And I think that the Qunari try to convert rather than kill outright. Meaning more of my friends and family might stand a chance of surviving the whole idea. Because like Solas, I love MY people and want their lives to keep on going, rather than some old people who died a thousand years ago. Or some new people that aren't even an idea yet.

As for setting up a playstate, I might pick tearing down the veil if I can play a character that survives or is born into Chaos unleashed. Because I keep picturing surfing on a veil wave and that sounds quite exciting. Exploring an ever changing world that changes with thought does sound fun and the possibilities for wicked mind-bending sound fun. Walking among the northern lights or running on the ceiling.

Playing in a Qunari ruled world would be interesting, but the torn down Veil sounds more exciting.

TL:DR As a now living character I would pick the Qun, for a future character I would like to try living in the torn down veil world.

Yeah I would be one of those people who wouldn't do well under the Qun. So bring down the Veil! Also, I would choose magic over mundane any day of the week.

In this scenario, there's no nations to "push back" - The Qunari have won and control everything. So which scenario would you prefer to live under when that's the case?

There's also the fact that Solas states he wants to rebuild his people on the ashes of the modern world, so yeah. The choice is duty-bound life with different degress of personal liberties depending on the person vs 90% chance of death from the shock of the Veil being tore down and/or from demons pouring out, so unless i was one of Solas' people it's Qunari vs Death

If i was a regular person in Thedas, definitely Qunari. I don't think we've ever met a qunari that was straight up cruel, which means that, at least, no one has to worry about Evanuris-like figures rising amongst their ranks. Plus, occupations really don't seem to work well in Thedas, so there's that

If i was a mage, probably death through the Veil

Solas wins, and it's the end of the world as we know it. The franchise is then rebooted as "Age of Solas", a high fantasy setting loaded with magic.

Why? I already have a perfectly good franchise that scratches my itch for darker settings, and BioWare seems to have a tendency that prefers high fantasy anyway, so I expect them to do well with it.

Solas or other Elven gods should return the world as it was, veil is unnatural for Thedas and its better to remove it before it will become crushe by itself what is happen everytime with each wars and magic problems when templars statr to do their stupid things and wars

It's definitely a scary proposition. We know for the elves that they had an advanced civilization, I wonder what living as a human or dwarf was like back then. Or a Kossith.

The teaching of the Qun often sounds logical, but completely wrong. Very funny in the party banters (Sten) or in some talk (with Arishok, for example), but you do not want to live in a world where the Qun is the prevailing order.

Well i have thought about it and i would choose to bring down the veil i do not loathe the Qun like Lyndsey does but liking it then no not really. So if i had to make a choice then i would go for bringing down the veil not good either but better then living under the Qun i guess.

I would choose the Qun. There is room for change and development and things eventually recovering from there. The Qunari don't care what race anybody is once they are within the Qun, they at least always have that positive.

Once Solas removes the veil he would still have a probably endless war vs Evanuris to contend with, unless he decided to settle for a world of elves bound as slaves.

Tough decision, and whichever way its spun there is a possible 'light' on both sides, but its very narrow

Well if you allow that people will survive the Veil being pulled down, then really the choice probably depends on whether you are a mage or mundane.    For a mage you would choose living in a world of magic because under the alternative you'd be force fed qamek and made into a mindless drone.   This is the fate of every mage not actually born and trained under the Qun.   Not that life would be that much better if you have been born into the Qun, being kept your entire life on a leash and controlled through a cattle prod.

If you are a mundane then you would probably choose to live under the Qun.    Evidence suggests that when the world is full of magic, then the strongest mages will rise to the top and previous history would indicate life would be pretty grim for those at the other end of the hierarchy.   Whereas under the Qun there is a degree of equality and respect in the way you are treated even if you are one of the general workers.

The thing is though we do not know exactly what life would be like without a Veil.   Much of the information we have has been filtered through Solas' prejudiced eyes, both the bad and good aspects of it.     It may be that the world needs the saturation in magic in order to destroy red lyrium and the taint or it could be that it will make it even worse.   Which is why I would want more information before making such a decision.

…and you can live relative safety, IF you do not want yourself to choose your way. The equality are NOT good, the equal chanche the good formula.

(By the way: the equality are nonsense: impracticable. Or...to a certain extent practicable but only at the cost of violence.)

I find Qunari's brainwashing habits scarier than the apocalypse, so I'd go with Soals trashing the veil.

Tear down the Veil. I would like to see how that would change things and the Evanuris sound interesting in a terrifying sort of way. The Qun sounds oppressive and dull. Bring on the chaos!

Well, on my gameplays has never been difficult to me to get along with the magic ancient dudes, such like Morrigan, Flemeth or Solas, so, I'll say to wipe out the veil, as long as I have a Witch of the Wilds as a friend to protect me, I think I'll be fine.
