It's not even hard, It's tedious, Just sit in cover for 42 hours wait for ur shields to recharge, Then pop up and fire LOSE YOUR SHIELDS because shepard is as strong as a stick... But human mercs can take 5 vindicator bursts to the head with no shields... It's just a bullet sponge/waiting game
Insanity is so TEDIOUS!

ME2 is a whole lot better than ME1. You can avoid a lot of that tedium by utilizing biotic and tech combos and knowing which sorts of enemies are most vulnerable to different sorts of attacks. You can also do a lot by positioning and directing your squad better and pressing your attacks more rather than sitting back and just taking pot shots with your guns.

You are doing a NG+ so you are fighting level 30 enemies with level 1 guns and no power upgrades. Of course the enemies are bullet sponges: your bullets are extremely weak. I would recommend against doing an NG+ in ME2 for this reason.
And certainly there is no necessity to just hide in cover with a Sentinel. In fact, you should be pressing in close to the enemy to make the most use of your tech armor. In this segment, for instance, I bring the fight to the enemy rather than wait for them to come to me.

Kinda hard to bring the fight to the enemy when your shields are destroyed in 3 shots and you die in 4 or less shots

Do you rlly think I just sit in cover? No most of my squad commands are in my quickbar menu lets say, I'll command miranda to warp and i will throw COMBO...

You answer to cap and gown sort of still sounds like you're sitting back in cover and you did say you were finding it tedious, not hard. If you are also pressing and using combos and placing your squadmates so that they can take some of the fire off you, then it is really just a matter of getting your timings down. Insanity battle in ME2 is not something that has to be either tedious or unduly hard.
I've done Insanity playthroughs using NG+ Shepards several times. I prefer them to using ME1 Shepards because with the NG+ my skill tree is complete. I'm not a player who relies heavily on my weapons anyways so it doesn't matter to me that I haven't got the weapon upgrades yet. What does make NG+ playthroughs tougher is that you don't have the shield and health upgrades yet and you're facing Level 30 enemies from the get go... So, you do have to be really good at getting the focus of the battle off you and plotting your course between covers so that your shields don't go down. You ARE more vulnerable, and it can be really frustrating, but it can be done. You just have to play it "smart" - and that's the challenge I enjoy.
You are also missing the biotic and tech upgrades, so powers are not quite as powerful against the Level 30 enemies as they would have been at the end of your first ME2 playthrough. I'm sure you'll find that going back to your ME1 import this time around will make a difference.

New character ME1 Insanity is more tedious IMO.
Whether or not NG+ in ME2 is harder than starting at 1-5 depends a lot on class, build, and your advanced weapon training.

The most important upgrade as a Sentinel is the third tech upgrade. This will reduce the cool down on tech armor by 20%. Combined with Guardian (passive) this will reduce the cool down on tech armor to 6 seconds. Without it, the best you can do is an 8.4 second cool down.
Both the tech and biotic cool down upgrades are effectively increasing your DPS by 30% (20% from the cool down upgrade, and 10% from the damage upgrade). This is a large and significant increase in your power curve.

Agree, they make a huge difference... still, I find it more of a pain to have to rebuild my skill set over the first part of the game than having that part all there and compensating for the lack of the upgrades. Also, my squad skill trees are also complete (other than loyalty talent), so I can capitalize on the variety of talents I have available to make combos, etc. Also, upgrades you purchase are applied right away... even before you get Mordin, so I buy as many as I can afford from either the Citadel or Omega shops right away and I buy them in the order that gives my Shepard the greatest boost I need him/her to get.
If you have the Firewalker and Normandy Crash Site DLCs, you can also do it right away to get a little more money to buy upgrades (and XP if you're doing an ME1 import). The Estevanico side mission doesn't involve any combat either, so it's also an easy way to get at little more coin to spend on upgrades before getting into any combat... so, if you're a sentinel, you can at least start out with the one Tech Damage or Damage Protection upgrade (from Saronis on the Citadel) and an upgrade for your preferred weapon and a Heavy Skin Weave upgrade.
