I have recently picked up DA:I again and I am trying to pick different choices just to explore more of the story and alternatives, however, there are some things I can't bring myself to do.

  • Telling Cullen to keep using lyrium.
  • Allying with the Qun. No way I am going to lose the Charges. Nope.
  • Not pardon Thom Rainier

I am pretty sure there are more, but these are the ones I can think of right now.

From DAI:

- Ally with the mages

- Keep Cole a spirit

- Help Briala

- Not exile the Wardens

- drink from the Well

- make anyone but Cassandra the divine

From DA2:

- not being sarcastic

- side with the mercenaries over the smugglers

- take Bethany to the deep roads

- not duel the Arishok

- side with the Templars

- side with Janeka

From DAO:

- not recuriting every party member

- not romancing Morrigan

- leave Redcliffe to die

- side with the werewolves

- annull the circle

- side with Caridin

- defile the urn

- kill Avernus

- spare the Architect

I think  I can do most things, but there are some that are very hard. Does that count?

Telling Cole to buzz off. I can ignore him easily enough, just have a hard time telling him to leave.

Executing the minor evil judgements. Like Mistress Poulin or Crestwood Mayor. They did bad stuff, but I can see their points and pity them.

Desecrate the elven graves in the Exalted Plains.

Probably some other stuff as well.

I have never made Vivienne mad enough to move the furniture around. Something about having her angry terrifies me, even if I know she can't do anything to me.

Not DAI, but I can't let Alistair be executed. I've done everything else.

I tried the Josephine romance and...

... and I just can't not romance Cass. She's too much fun to smooch. Plus I like the romance music. I'm a big softie for the silly poems as well.

I consider myself to be rather pro-mage, but I have never been able to conscript the templers in DAI, and I probably never will. I've allied with the mages and the templers, I've conscripted the mages before, but I've never been able to conscript the templers. I think it's because of how the Champions of the Just is set up, that the templers that are left were the ones being duped and not the ones doing the duping or weren't fully aware of everything that was going on. Whereas all the mages knew Fiona had sold them to Tevinter and they did nothing about it. I don't know.

I've also never been able to play any romance but Fenris in DA2. Stupid sexy elf!  :P

Thank the Maker I'm not the first person to use a romance.

I can't not romance Dorian. I just adore him to bits.

I can't select the option to break up with Dorian, even just to see it and reload. I understand that he doesn't react too badly, but I know he would be putting that on, and even if it's only disappointment in his voice, I don't want to hear it. Watching the alternate post-sex responses was bad enough.

I also can't kick people out of the Inquisition. Granted, Sera is the only person you can actually do that with, but I never get so low in approval that the option to leave comes up for anyone else. I also would be unable to punch Solas or Dorian if I ever got their crisis scenes.

I think I've seen most of the paths for the big decisions. The ones I haven't seen yet -- Inquisitor drinking from the well -- are simply because it's not an RP choice for that character; I'll see it eventually.

Uh... I can't play an a-hole. Does that count?

Not DAI, but the main thing that I refuse to ever do or watch is giving Fenris to Danarius.

I like to do all the things, to a point where I have spreadsheets all of my characters to keep track.  :?

I found a way to RP abandoning Redcliffe, siding with the Werewolves, possessing Connor, letting the Tevinters take the elves, slaughtering everyone in the tower including Wynne and most other 'evil' choices.

However there are a couple of options I'll probably never do...

For all 3 games I have trouble lying and being a jerk just to get paid, like lying to Ruck's mother just so she'll pay up.

In DA:O it'd be executing Alistair.  I have him as a wandering drunk but I don't see the point of killing him, and I can't quite bring myself to do it anyhow.  Supporting Bhelen 100% is something I've yet to do.  I'll pick him, but not be convinced about him.

In DA2 I'm planning on killing Fenris but yikes...I love that guy and I don't know if I've got the stones for it.  Merrill and Anders?  Sure.  But Fenris is way harder.  I was going to kill Bethany at the end of my last run but we bonded in Legacy DLC and I chickened out.

For DAI I don't think I'll ever romance Blackwall.  I think I'll do pretty much everything else though.

I enjoy being different people with vastly different outlooks.  They're all good in their own ways, but have strong points of view that let me make almost every choice in the games.

I'm planning on either doing that or killing him sometime, but I really really don't want to.  It'd have to be a hell of a roleplaying effort to be able to justify that one.  I do plan on having a Hawke that's a right s.o.b. so maybe with him...

In DAI, I never:

- Conscript the mages

- Make Cole more human

- Let Leliana stay hardened

- Not pardon Rainier

- Ask Cullen to continue taking lyrium

I've only played DA2 once, but I will never:

- Give Fenris to Danarius

- Side with the Templars

- Execute Anders

Edit: *Gasp*! Forgot about Trespasser! I can never not want to redeem Solas!

I've never been able to do those needlessly cruel stuff, like
- Turn Fenris in
- Let Cullen continue take lyrium (would have been awesome if there'd been a risk of losing him when breaking his habit though; now I simply know it succeeds without costs)
- Let Meredith kill Bethany
- Play with Carver as sibling (too cruel to myself. :P)

Sacrificing Chargers became interesting with the Trespasser event. Tried letting Cole become more spirit once; never again.

I can't look through the murdered tranquil skulls to get shards anymore. It feels crappy enough that absolutely no one cares about the murdered tranquils and it seems so much worse to use their mutilated skulls to hunt pointless shards.

Can't play as a human non-mage because they don't seem to have any friends or family that cared about them. It doesn't seem any friends or family ever come to visit them. Did they die at the conclave? If so why wasn't the Herald affected by the loss of family and friends?

Have never been able to ally with Branka, and end the game with that choice (did it to see what occurred, but re-loaded).

Have not had Cullen addicted to Lyrium.

Cannot spare the pedophile in DA2.

While I generally ally rather than conscript Templars, it's due to the bug that prevents Barris war table missions. Ideally, I would conscript because I see it as taking responsibility for the Templars and bringing them into the Inquisition rather than remain a separate organization. And since Tresspasser basically sets the Inquisition up to be absorbed into the Chantry, those conscripted Templars either become the new Seekers or remain under Chantry rule. I think allied Templars have a harder time of it because they no longer have any form of leadership and are cast adrift after Inquisition.

I can't

-let Morrigan have the well if I am playing an Elf

-conscript mages if i am playing a mage

-romance Solas

-conscript Templars if I romancing Cullen

I've done everything else, tried romancing Solas but, nope, didn't even make the Winter palace on that one.

There is not many things thanks to the wonders on roleplaying! So here is all the things I have not be able to do, in any of my roleplay scenarios...

DAO:-

Side with werewolves

Let Loghain live

Abandon Redcliffe without helping

DA2:-

Side with Varnell

Kill Javaris

DAI:-

Drink from the Well of Sorrows

Allow Celene to be assassinated

All of the above choices are just ones I really don't like and I won't build a character to roleplay specifically for these decisions. I can't see myself doing these, and maybe I missed one or two more but I would say I could do any other choice with one of my characters!

I can't side with the Templars - EVER

I can't kick Sera out no matter how naughty she is. :P

I can't give Blackwall any other conclusion other than letting him join the Wardens.

I can't let anyone except Leliana be the new Divine. (I was open to Cass but I feel her energy is better spent rounding up and fixing the Seekers)

I can't let anyone but the Dalish Inquisitor ride the Harts

I can't ever desecrate the Dalish graveyard, which means I have never been inside that tomb (in over 30 runs of DAI)

I can't let the Chantry have the documents recovered at The Knights Tomb.

I can't ever betray or side against Briala.

I can't ever let the Chargers die.

I can't ever harm the Golden Halla.

I can't ever let Hawke die. (In my canon world its always Stroud)

If I am playing a Dalish I can't let Morrigan drink from the well.

I can't ever kill the great bear and her cubs, nor purposely harm any Halla.

I can't ever not flirt with Scout Harding

I can't ever make Cole more human.

I've swallowed allying with the Qun a few times, but I have to get up from my seat and walk around to shake it out.

I can never not allow Blackwall to rejoin the Gray Wardens officially.

And I can never antagonize Dorian or Solas :( I could never become Dorian's foe.

I can't desecrate the Sacred Ashes. Not for a murderous cult of inbred lizard-worshipping morons.

I can't forgive Loghain at the Landsmeet. It's head-choppy-choppy every time.

I can't let the Arishok take Isabela. Besides the 'betrayal of a friend' aspect, I just really, really want to kill the Arishok.

I can't
-not pardon Blackwall
-tell Cullen to take lyrium
-trick Dorian into seeing his father
-allow Celene to die
-drink from the Well (I enjoy Morrigan's reaction too much when she realizes who Mythal is)
- leave my Alistair to die - never never will do that
-not recruit everyone even if I never speak to them again

Finally, I can't not hear the Get Smart theme music in my head whenever I go to the war room - all those doors!

- Not performing The Ultimate Sacrifice.

- Not learning the Duelist Spec.

- Not playing as either a Mage or a Melee Rogue.

- Not being witty and yet ruthless.

- Not choosing an underdog background/Origin.
