So, has anyone here made a playthrough without choosing any Sides of The Force?

I've always found it more trouble than its worth trying to micromanage my alignment. It does not even matter, except if you are using a build focused on force powers, but then pumping up your charisma is a much easier way to minimize the force point cost penalty for opposite side powers.

From a RP POV it's interesting 'cause you're kinda giving the finger to both the Jedi and Sith philosophy and choosing your own.

I guess that works better in KotOR 2, as you are no Jedi, nor Sith, just using their tools and teachings for yor own goals.

KotOR 1 always felt too Jedi centric, at least up to the point of the revelation about your true origins, but that never hit me like something that could turn me over to the dark side.

That was an option?

Hm I don't even remember that, but no I don't think so it was all light and then all dark, partly because they had a lot of unlock able abilities in all that.

My feelings, also.  Doing nasty things just to keep from going more lighter (or darker) side made no sense for me.  I never agreed 100% with the Jedi teachings and liked Jolee's outlook best, but the game did not let us incorporate that very well.  It was just basically, "Be good here, be nasty there."
