I'm trying to set up a perfect game for mass effect 2 and gain the insanity run. I played through on hardcore and am now up to ilos on insanity with 802007/862100 xp. The only thing I haven't completed is the hunter and time trial modes on pinnacle which I found too annoying. Can I still make lvl 60?

If you do everything on foot(other than the 40 second speed run to the Conduit) and explore thoroughly to find all enemies, you should be able to.

Until recently, I was under the impression that there wasn't enough XP in a single game on any difficulty to get to 60.  However, I was going the UNC Geth incursions and the geth dropping from the drop ship seemed to be non stop until the drop ship was destroyed, so I might be wrong.

No, that dropship on Casbin only lingers until it can drop 23 shock troopers, and it will abort its mission if you damage it sufficiently with the Mako. Since you get no XP for shooting the dropship, I always bring AI Hacking and Singularity here to have fun with the troopers.

Near as I can tell, the only infinite spawn point in the game is Listening Post Alpha, but only if you stay about 200+ meters away from it. As you keep your distance, you can watch Durand and her team fight an endless stream of little rachni workers. (They're orange here.) Sometimes they will detect you and approach. Like the green ones, they can damage you if they get too close. But like all enemies that spawn here, you get no XP for these kills. Once you get close enough to the outpost, the workers become soldiers and the "rachni waves" fight gets underway.

Without cheating the closest I've ever come to level 60 on a single PT is level 58. Not very close. :)

Thanks for the clarification.  58 is what I thought was the highest you could reach in one game.  I've done all the UNC missions that I can except for Rogue VI and Kahoku's missing squad but I still haven't been to any plot worlds - haven't even got Liara yet. I'm level 52 already ha.
