Hi guys, quick question...

I'm currently playing a DA:O run where my Warden recruited Sten but then told him to leave when he challenged her at Haven.  I got the quest for his sword but hadn't done it yet so he left without it.

I'm a little unsure how to reflect this in the Keep.  I did recruit him, but I can't say that I then told him to leave.  The Keep is only letting me say that he was either recruited or not recruited.

If I click recruited then the world state will assume he stayed with the Warden till the end right?  Should I do that, or say that I freed him but didn't recruit him?  That would mean the world state would 'think' that I never had him in my team at all, but perhaps that's the better option?

Hmmm that's a tough decision. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure as to what I'd do if I were in your same situation.

Maybe choose depending on how long Sten has been in your party. Did you do Redcliffe quests and then went to Haven right after you found him in Lothering? Or did you do a bunch of main plotline quests before searching for the Sacred Ashes?

I think that is the better option. For choices like this you want to look at the big picture. You did free him, but he didn't stay with you until the end.

Yep, Redcliffe, the Circle and the Elves all done with before the Urn.  So he was in the party for quite a while and was getting on well with my warden.  I didn't plan on him leaving, it just happened and I try to RP as much as possible.  I thought my warden would be super pissed with him for doubting her so would tell him to hop it.  I liked it, it seemed authentic for her to do that, but now I'm in a muddle with the Keep tiles.

It seems like the most similar choice doesn't it?  Better than the game thinking we fought to the end together.

I scratch my head at some of the choices that are present in the Keep over the ones that were left out.  I have half a dozen choices for Ruck and Zerlinda each, but can't adequately express what happened with a bonfide companion.   <_<
