A question for everyone: Has Bioware given you some feedback from an idea you posted?

I would like to know if you got some feedback from Bioware from an idea you have posted?

I think is important that we feel that our ideas are read and evaluated by Bioware..otherwise there is no real  incentive for us to write in this forum.

And then, is there a better way to communicate game ideas to Bioware?

I like this forum, it is very funny to read your replies but it is also quite dispersive as there are a lot of off-topic talkings...

I wonder if there is a more focused way to communicate new ideas.

Thank you! Cheers!

Not really.

In my experience, most ideas only get picked up after a long time and after they've become really popular and widely used/accepted in the community. The best example I have in mind is the Citadel DLC, where they included virtually all the stuff people liked and wanted to see about the characters.

I don't think that is their job, actually.

In my case, I use the forum for venting while I'm waiting for news. The ideas are mostly a way to anticipate the news creativitely. Right now is really late for any idea to make an impact imo.

Bioware has shown that they take feedback to heart as is evident by how the DLC of Dragon Age: Inquisition culminating in Trespasser and the return of the Black Emporium with the latter even being free content.

As bad as DAMP was, they listened to the community and did make changes based on it.  No one can deny this.  It's a fact.  They even improved the potion/grenade effectiveness extremely fast after the community brought it up.  Not to mention RNG and balances changes....sure they had their own things, but they did listen to the community and stayed in communication/posted from release on.

As much as you can bash that game, and how dirty they did fans.....still, you have to give credit where it is due.

Nah, but they do tend to take note of broader trends, and then implement stuff based on them. See: Tali and Garrus romances, and pretty much the entirety of the Citadel DLC. (It doesn't get more meta than Tali talking about Tali sweat.)

The 'refuse'-ending for the extended cut of ME3 was exactly the same as a suggestion by someone on the forum.

That's the only thing that comes to mind.

Nope, but I haven't been here that long.  I feel like BioWare, more than most developers, take into account the feelings and experiences of their fan base.

Some of the criticisms I have of DA:O are addressed in DA2.  Then the bad bits of DA2 are changed for DA:I.  They react to feedback and it's awesome.  Even with ME, in ME2 there's nowhere near enough story or interactions with squadmates, fire up ME3 and both of those things have been added to dramatically.

Sure, in addressing the problems with the last game they immediately drop the ball on a whole bunch of other stuff for the new game and create new problems.

But I like how they react and listen to their players.  So many others don't care one little bit.

Agreed I just use forums like these to help the people making these sorts of games make them better if I can as I believe that's  what forums like this are for. Most groups I think hav their own forums have forums like this for similar purposes certainly at least Codemasters do as well as Bioware. Whether they listen or make use of every idea is irrelevant as not every idea would work well in the games we just have to trust that they know how to make best use out of the ones that will work well.

I just wish they'd pick up this good ideas that people post.

What "good ideas" there are so many "good ideas" here on this forum it's impossible to do something with those ideas. If they would use some of the ideas then maybe you would not like them because maybe they weren't your "good ideas" to begin with. So the way i see it they shouldn't do that and just go their own way.

And on topic then no and they shouldn't i have no "good ideas" to begin with anyway :P

LOL if the OP is expecting feedback on his ideas...........I think anyone from Bioware would rather lock themselves in a room with wild ferrets than even read his ideas.

Exactly what I was trying to say really upin my post not all ideas are going to work in their games but I'm sure they do use this forum to gather some ideas of what to do in their games. They just got to if they'er going to use an idea figure out how best to make it work within the mechanics of the game. Obviously because their games are RPG's they've got t odo it in such a way that it works we ll in an RPG way and in particular the way they design their games/stories. If they'er going to do so.

This is a discussion forum, not a submissions platform. The point is to discuss BioWare games with other players, not get feedback from BioWare devs on your random ideas. They have jobs to do and that ain't one of them.
The people who share their ideas here are doing so because they want to, not because they're expecting validation from a dev.

Kind of, in a sort of indirect way.

There are times where BioWare employees have feedback to ideas. Last autumn there was a thread about content toggles where feedback was given by Bryan Johnson. He also mentioned the thread and others were being talked about around the office, iirc.

The only negative resulting from the feedback was that some posters tried -repeatedly- to use Bryan's words to close discussion on the topic. While a proposition may be unfeasible at that present time the discussion was insightful. Unfortunately, when that tactic didn't work out the posters desperate to close the thread went to trolling, dog piling, personal attacks and off topic postings in an effort to shut down the thread. The usual. Fortunately, moderation was fair and even and the thread kept open until discussion stopped on it's own. There hasn't been much of a feedback on ideas on the ME:A since then, as far as I've noticed.

As this thread does not discuss ME Andromeda it is being closed.
