I hate this stupid meme. There is nothing to support it and stuff to oppose it, like the fact she is the only LI that doesn't neccesarily sleep with Shepard.
As for the topic, is Shepard completely gone or is there enough of them left that they could be talked down like Saren and TIM?
Anyone can kill Shepard if they can line up a good shot or get the jump on him/her. As some have said before the only reason why Shepard managed to survive so long was because of luck.

You're missing the point training and skill mean nothing if Shepard is in the wrong place at the wrong time especially if he/she is caught off guard. Luck is the only reason why Shepard is still alive.

The only time some one will know their in the wrong place at the wrong time is when its too late i.e. when the collector's destroy the Normandy) and realistically speaking the more frequently some fights the more likely their going to get them selves killed. Also so no matter how good some one's training and skill is if their in the wrong place at the wrong time they won't last long even if its for a few seconds.

On the contrary, Shepard has tons of abilities which even some renown specialists lack. Game gives enough examples of it.
Depends on the class and situation, do they ambush Shep while he's sleeping or it is 1vs1 fight.
1vs1 probably Jack, Samara, Wrex, Javik, any biotic (although it vary as in Liara has better chances than Jacob), ME2&ME3 EDI, Mordin, Morinth, Grunt, Thane, Miranda...
Everyone has a chance to beat Shep but I think the ones I listed have better chances than let's say the refund guy or Oriana.

If ME were anything like real life, Shepard would have stayed dead at the beginning of ME2.

Miyamoto Musashi,Leonidas of Sparta,Alexander Magnus,Genghis Khan,Julius Caesar were great warriors and survived against impossible odds only because they were lucky enough to do it.
Of course they had no training,skills,or even courage enough to face everything and rise,the only reason they survived after so many battles was because of their luck...

Plot armor... and the fact that the player will reset and continue after each "critical failure" screen. 
(BTW, I do agree with you overall). Of course, my Kaidan regularly takes armature hits to the face, goes down, and later gets up claiming "It's just a scratch."
OP: Shepard is mortal and fallible, so, even though highly trained and highly skilled, is quite capable of messing up and getting killed. Every soldier is.

The plot of ME is that Shepard is not a superhero like the examples you cite above. Shepard continually says the he/she is "just a soldier"... regardless of the class you select. Therefore, the story is written in such a way that basically any of his/her companions and any of the his/her enemies could conceivably "beat" Shepard if the right circumstances presented themselves. The story is also written in such a way that those "right circumstance" never do actually present themselves... and if they do (with respect to enemies), the PC "dies", the "critical failure" screen appears, and the player reloads. The companions are, for all intents and purposes, the invincible ones since they will recover on their own (no medi-gel) any time Shepard clears the radar of enemies and Shepard cannot shoot any of them in a natural course of battle (i.e. no friendly fire).

Shepard is a highly trained soldier, but, as a mortal being, he can be brought down/beaten by just about anyone. A real-life example here is the American Sniper, Chris Kyle. Highly trained, one of the best snipers in the US forces, killed by a more mediocre ex-soldier on a shooting range. Kyle made a mistake and it cost him his life... something Shepard could also have done (had the "plot armor" of the story not prevented it).

What it should have done is create a pop-up message with "You idiot! Shepard's dead now," written on it, and then the PC/console should have self destructed.
