I went and met with the Ferelden and Orlesian ambassadors and I talked to everyone else and had there cut scenes. The optional part of catching up with your old friends has disappeared. However, when I went to talk to Iron Bull all he said was "Hey Boss" and all Sera says is "Maybe sort out how they want to mess with us. Then there will be something to talk about." This is my first time doing this dlc with so I want to know if there is all there is. Just want to make sure I am not missing anything before starting the council.

Both Sera and Iron Bull have cutscenes before Exalted Council, but they may not trigger if your approval with them is too low. That applies to all companions.

Thanks for clarifying. That is what I was thinking but I just wanted to make sure before I continued. Hopefully, I will see these on my 2nd or 3rd playthrough.

Also, Sera gets much more screen time if you have romanced her.

Yep. That happened to me when I went to talk with Varric.

Okay, that makes sense. I do not have the alliance with them on my 3rd playthrough, so I should see it then.

Not really. Bull, for example, has only additional heart option in his cutscene. Which is nothing special, considering in his cutscene you can get additional dialogue depending on your class and perks as well.

My understanding is that there are three levels of reaction you get from companions at the Exalted Council. A full cut scene, an less personal but still reasonably friendly in game dialogue, or just them asking you to see what the Exalted Council wants.
