You can, and they have a tab for that, called "mirrors".  I don't think it could be considered unethical, since they themselves offer the means to do it, though some users may complain about having to visit another site to download them.

I know you said the upload speed was prohibitive for you.  I could upload them to your project page for you if you create the page and give me editing permission for it.

Hi Tchos,

Thanks for the offer. If, however, using "mirror" sites is not an issue, then I should be able to manage that OK. :) I will bear your offer in mind though just in case.

To Everybody:

I have had a player report that they have had the module crash when trying to leave the first area (and had background text missing in the GUI) ... Has anybody else experienced these problems, or has everyone else been OK?

EDIT: I have tested the files on a different computer (fresh install) my end and all works as it should. However, I have also learned that this player has a rather low spec VGA card (Nvidia geforce Go 7900 gs) and lower memory, which makes me suspect their PC specifications for my module. Can other players report the specs of their computers and if they are having any issues or are playing OK?

RESULT: After doing some research, I discovered that the errors reported do appear to be related to the computer being of too low specification to run NWN2, especially SoZ and associated modules.

Thanks in advance.
Lance.

As an aside, I recompressed your files after prearranging them in the folder structure they should have when extracted for greater convenience, and with 7zip I reduced the total to 612MB, which is 72% of the size of the separate RAR files.

Hmm, I've not had any significant issues with the Nexus. I can access it fine from two different sites with two different anti-virus software packages. Yours must be extraordinarily sensitive. :?

Hi rjshae,

OK, I managed to update a page on the Nexus: http://www.nexusmods...ter2/mods/1040?

As I state on the page, this page only has the Information.rar as a direct link and all other files must be downloaded via the "REQUIRED FILES" or "MIRROR FILES" section, which all point to the Vault uploads.

I'll see how that pans out.

Cheers,
Lance.

That's not a bad saving! I may have to look into using 7zip myself now then.

Thanks for the heads up.

Lance.

EDIT: Tchos, What do you mean by, "... prearranging them in the folder structure they should have when extracted for greater convenience"? Is there a setting or procedure I am missing here?

Hi All,

This post is to bump/highlight important update on this module. (I had hoped I could HIDE this post afterwards without altering its position in the forums, but that did not work.)

Anyway, important patch has been released: v1.02 (See initial post.)

Cheers, Lance.

I read your post before you added this edit, so I didn't see you asked me a question until now.  Best to make a new post if you want to ensure people see things after your initial post.

What I mean is putting the content in folders that match the folders you'll be installing them to, like Campaigns, modules, hak, music, etc., the way I package my mods.  So you can just unzip the file into the directory, and all of the files go where they're supposed to, instead of telling people "install this stuff into your Campaigns folder, and this stuff into your modules folder," etc.

Hi Tchos,

OK, I think that's what I do anyway. :)

Cheers,
Lance.

Everybody,

Be sure to report any and all issues, as some players may be experiencing their own issues, specific to their paths in the game, which were NOT picked up during testing.

E.g. I have had "transition" problems reported where some PCs were NOT following the main PC, but that may be due to a couple of reasons:-

1) The PCs were set to WAIT or STAND GROUND and are designed NOT to follow in a SAME AREA transition.
2) Maybe it's an unreported BUG that requires more feedback.

Cheers,
Lance.

It's not what you do, judging from The Scroll.

Ah, maybe I am still not understanding then ... not to worry.

Hopefully, most will understand.

Lance.

Place the zip or zips in the NWN2 documents folder, and choose "extract here".  If that's all you have to do to install the module, then you're doing it the way I described.  If instead you have to choose to extract one archive into "Campaigns", another into "modules", etc., then you're not.

When I repackaged your module, I made it work as I described, where originally it did not.

Hi Tchos,

I have not done it that way .... I did not want to assume other players had the same folder structure (in case this made it extract in the wrong place for them).

Cheers,
Lance.

All players must have the folder structure of Campaigns, modules, hak, music, etc. in order for modules to work at all.  Nothing else is assumed.  Those are the only folders included in my package.  It cannot extract in the wrong place for anyone, as long as they place the archive or archives into their NWN2 user folder as I instructed.

Ah, I understand now .... You have them place the 7z file in a certain place *before* extraction, and it works out where to place the folders/files from that point.

I get it now. Thanks for explaining it.

Cheers,
Lance.
