In some variants of endings of ME3 Geth continue to live. Would you be interested to get any of them to the team in the MEA? I think that the Legion was very curious party member.

I highly doubt we'll be seeing any characters from the original trilogy.

However my theory is that they're going to run it that we leave for Andromeda before any major choices in Mass Effect 3 happen, that way they can conveniently just ignore having to acknowledge any of those choices and we'll be able to have Geth, Quarian, and Krogan crew members.

If they want to make ME:A as much of a clean slate as possible for story choices, that's the logical thing to do.

I do not think there would be geth. If you were trying to build a Ark to save live in the milky way why bring Geth (robtic AI) who a lot of people do not trust and are not living organisms with you to Andormeda.

A rogue quarian pro-geth maybe? I imagine him or her smuggling a geth in pieces... just because it's awesome... So, I don't know if it's a good bad quarian Koris type or a bad scientist quarian as Xen...

To be fair though, if you are building an ark to travel to another galaxy then bringing along the species that doesn't need to eat, sleep, and doesn't age isn't exactly a bad idea =P

This is most likely the case, but there is still a problem. Geth didn't interact with the rest of galaxy until battle for Rannoch. Quarians have better stance, but number of rogue ones is practically zero and others were fully mobilized at the moment of ME3.

Inb4 Arishok (Geth Supremacy) gives his passionate explanation about Geth and why they're so wonderful :D :

Yes, I think we should have a geth character as a squadmate, I would fully support this :)

Will they appear in the next game?  Your Geth is as good as mine.

So they can ruin the Geth again like what they did in ME3? Nah.

We had a debate here about that particular mystery but I could not reach consensus.

I'd love to have geths on the ship, they wouldn't necessarily need to be in within squadmates, but I think they would be good to have in team as well as other Al's like EDI. Without EDI in the Normandy Shepard would have been dead multiple times and Geth have similar skill set in both electronic warfare and information.

My guess is they'll probably hand wave this by claiming some rogue group of Geth we didn't previously know about secretly helped the project or something.

That's usually the solution to this sort of thing. Just claim some stuff was going on that we didn't know about before.

Just as long they don't become overemotional squatting toasters again like they did in ME3, I wouldn't mind Geth in ME:A at all.

You answered your own question, geth are synthetics. Their intelligence is immense and only becomes all the more greater when in a hive mind. They'd be an invaluable asset for an ark project.

Legion was created to investigate Shepard, so maybe the Geth made more like him for other important missions. A new galaxy is exactly the kind of thing the Geth would want to "forge their own destiny" separate from the Quarians and the Old Machines.

It wouldn't make sense, unless the Geth (or just a Geth) followed the ARK, hid in it, spies on it..

I'd love to have the ME2 geth in Andromeda. ME1's Cylons or ME3's Pinnochios, not so much.

As for practical considerations of getting them there, I don't see an issue. Sure, they were universally hostile to organics and organics to them up until 2/3s of the way through ME3 (and divergence point with the MW setting is almost certainly before that if the writers have any sense), but as software they could always stow a relatively small number of themselves clandestinely in the project's computers (they have a history of observing organics e.g. the experiment with the salarian religious sect, and this could be of a similar motivation), then replicate more of themselves and build platforms when we get there.

Or, they could have sent some geth centuries ago and already be in transit to or in Andromeda because (insert weird suit ailen designed AI logic reasons for exploring other galaxies), since they're functionally immortal, so time isn't a constraint and they presumably wouldn't care about a couple hundred years long trip with a great chance of failure. They're also not subject to the same tech constraints (for example the drive discharge issue) since we don't know much about their technology except that it is in general relatively advanced in relation to most of the organic species'.

Maybe the Geth sent their own colony ship? Who knows, the Geth could be returning as an enemy faction.
