Cyclonic Modulator IV bugged on PC - Rumor or Truth?

Hey folks!

 

I was told by some long-time players on PC that Cyclonic Modulator IV will bug out and no longer increase the Shield Pool.

 

As I've sifted through I think all of the currently existing bug-threads on the forums and have not found anything relaying to Cyclonics being bugged, I thought I'd just ask here if anyone has also encountered this or if those persons merely over-exaggerate or fell prey to other game issues (I was thinking of possible health gate issues with lag, lag in general, using Cyclonics on kits with no points in fitness...that kind of stuff).

 

As I don't have any Cyclonics IV of my own, I cannot test this yet.

I've never heard of this, and I'm pretty sure the person who told you that is incorrect.

Cyclonic IV works just fine on PC, there are a million + bugs, but that ain't one of them.

I can confirm this is absolutely false. I have used thousands of Cyclonic Modulator IIIs and IVs on PC and Cyclonic Modulator IV is clearly better hence its working as intended.

Can confirm it works. There are posibly two reasons why would one claim they don't work:

 

1) They are trolling

2) They play at 60FPS. Enemies do enormous damage at 60fps. Marauders, Collector Captains, Geth, and etc are ruthless with their damage output. That might give false impression of cyclonics not working, but they are just on the receiving end of high framerate.

Can confirm it works. There are posibly two reasons why would one claim they don't work:

Well, there are a lot of things that can render shield value pointless in this game. Shield Gate and Health Gate are the REAL survival mechanics (beyond, you know, not getting hit), however, that doesn't mean Cyclonics are bugged (they aren't). I use Cyclonics on a few characters, such as my no-fitness Demolisher. On platinum, chances are, if you get hit, your shields are gone anyway, best to not get hit rather than rely on a shield bonus. I have more Cyclonics mods of ANY/each level than I have TOTAL Adrenaline Modules, since the latter is better for survival AND offense.

 

TL;DR Cyclonics not bugged, just not always useful.

4) Overconfidence. People think they have all the shields of this world and can soak up everything Prime can dish out.

The only bug I have found which really isnt a bug, but, with when CM4's are equipped, you use the secret Bioware bypass code to increase your rockets from 6 to 10

 

the Code is: ctl-alt-del-tab-tab-spacebar +~

 

once you do this you can also hear faintly in the background the krogan who recites farewell poetry to his asari GF on Presidum commons, have to turn up the volume though

I use Cyclonics on my no fitness drell, and trust me, it is bugged. Ravager goo and swarmers still hurt me.

A few days ago I landed in a lobby with some human engineer pug who talked and said that he never puts points in fitness for his HE as his other abilities are too good to skip. Well, he also used a power amp III or maybe IV. The host was almost lag-free running at at least 60 fps and UUG gave us Glacier Hazard aka Thunderdome against collectors. The host and me we both got 10 revives each by wave 3 and on wave 4, that HE pug just quit as it was really embarrassing. He was a good player though. I'm sure his build would be doing very well on this map with cyclonics III and even better with cyclonics IV.

lately been using them on my vanilla AA since she only depends on detonations and weapon damage which is why I can use cyclonics without missing out on anything.
