Has everyone sold their 360 and PS3 already? I never do that with a massive backlog and favourite games I want to return too.

Why would anybody get rid of the better system? XBox One and PS4 has basically no games worth anything. You could give me one, and I'd just sell it. I feel sorry for all the suckers sheep people who bought (or pre-ordered!) one early. Should've atleast waited for a price drop and a sale.

Actually ps4 has quite a good amount of titles. Bloodborne alone should be worth it but other than that you have killzone, mortal combat x, uncharted, dark souls 2 and 3, Until Dawn and Witcher 3 to name a few.

I've played Last of Us a bit and don't feel it deserves all the hype. Don't get me wrong, it has a great story (one of the best in my opinion) and amazing voice actors, but the gameplay is very awkward. I don't regret buying it though because it is a really good game, just a bit disappointing.
So basically, what Penguin said ![]()

The Last of Us is also one of the most overhyped games of the generation.
Hype: promote or publicize (a product or idea) intensively, often exaggerating its benefits.
Bearing in mind the fact that I share a view of marketing and advertising with the guy in my avatar, I find the TLOU discussion interesting. I'm honestly not sure that 'overhyped' is actually the word any of you are looking for. I suspect you think many people overrate it, but that's a different, subjective thing.
Sony obviously does all the same things that Microsoft and every other corporation is guilty of when it comes to promoting exclusive products intensively. But as a subsidiary, Naughty Dog has always struck me as a company which effectively puts its money where its mouth is, and presents its games in a 'here's our game, we love it, and we think you will too' kind of way, with much less obvious hype (or absolute delusion) than Bethesda, EA, Treyarch, id, Rockstar or Ubisoft, for example. I saw the latest advertisement for Uncharted 4 on Friday night - which consisted of no more than unbroken in-game footage. I responded to it by pre-ordering the game later that night (once my pulse had returned to normal). Was I a victim of hype or advertising? I would grudgingly say clever advertising, and I made my decision based on the fact that I've thoroughly enjoyed all the other games in the franchise, and can see no reason why this one should be any different, with the added bonus that it seems as if there will finally be a game which (retro-actively, in my case) justifies buying a PS4. I am not a sheep, but I know what I like.
As for my personal take on TLOU, I would happily rate any and every aspect of it as a minimum of 9/10. I only played it once on PS3, but I've been through it 5 times on PS4, with only Survival mode left as a challenge - one I relish the thought of. As a photographer, I find the photo mode facility alone more enjoyable than the vast majority of games I've played. It allows for a near fetish-like appreciation of the quite incredible attention to detail. Not only are the graphics beautiful and the total absence of loading screens or 'imminent action tells' very refreshing, but I also find it hard to fault the script, acting, characterization, pacing, variety, gameplay mechanics, or indeed the overall plot and how it is presented. If there is an objectively better realised game in existence from the generation, it's one I'm completely unaware of. I might love ME2 just as much, but oh dear sweet lord is it infantile and clunky as all f*ck by comparison. I'm playing a male Shep atm and honestly, I can only 'enjoy' Mark Meer's acting in the way I 'enjoy' Rick Astley's singing. And TLOU really is even better on PS4. But on either platform it's an essential game for anyone who isn't allergic to the concept of survival horror. Sorry for adding to the 'hype'!

As for that wider PS4 debate, of the 15 or so games I have, Until Dawn is the only current gen exclusive which I rate highly, but I do expect Tuesday's release of UC4 to change that. If I was a Sony executive, I would be more concerned by the fact that I know I'm not the only multi-platformer who allowed my PS+ subscription to expire shortly after getting my PS4 around 6 months ago, as the only MP game which holds any interest for me (for now) is freely available on PS3. That said, I don't regret my purchase in the slightest, and am primarily frustrated by my internet connection not allowing me to make use of its sharing or streaming capabilities. I would love to be able to play ME3 on newer hardware, but it seems more likely to happen on Xbone than PS4.

Well, I helped my friends finish TLOU on the highest difficulty setting. So you know I'm not just hating on a game I didn't play.
I found the action quite predictable, as in, always knew WHEN and usually HOW(Or WHAT, since the enemy variety and terrain is what really dictated how you approached the combat PUZZLE) it was going to happen.
TLOU is no less a puzzle game than Overlord. Which was infinitely more fun, and was at least amusing. TLOU takes itself far too seriously, which means I can't take it seriously. The enemies, whilst possesing SOME variety, were not really all that varied, and consisted of cliche, over-used ideas.
Whilst the plot was not entirely predictable, which is a huge thing, since predictability makes so many games boring, it was not the least bit original.
I only played on the PS3, so that may impact my lack of appreciation for the graphics, which were by no means amazing, even for the system in question. Better than average, sure, I'll admit that, but have you seen some of the PS3 games?
I had no idea it was a Naughty Dog game, though that would explain a lot of it. Pretty good company over all.
Honestly, it's one of those games that tends to blow people's minds until they take a step back and realize that they have just been had. And then they feel dirty for falling for the cheap parlour tricks.
I will also admit to having played it early in its life, and without DLC, so the "finished" product may be slightly different than what I remember.
I also admit that I have no taste in games, it is known.
ON TOPIC THOUGH: (Do we even remember what this means on this forum?)
I'd also LOVE to play ME3MP on better hardware. I positively drool at the thought of stable collectors matches, on random maps.
However, I am NOT going to buy an entire console, and then pay a subscription, like an idiot, to play a game I already paid for. So even if EA ported ME3MP to the PS4, I'd have no interest. And they have Sony to thank for it. EA does have themselves to blame for me having no interest in Andromeda either though, so not all Sony's fault.

Were it not for ME:A, I wouldn't even consider subscribing to PlayStation Plus again...
I only really play singleplayer games on my PS4. And at the end of the day, paying for something you got on an earlier console for free isn't a good idea.
The benefits of it over the average PS3 internet are negligible at best, and they don't offer you any good free games to make up for it. Even if they offered something like Dishonored on the PS4 - something which you can pick up for less than £10 - fair enough. But they don't. I look at the monthly games and get discouraged every time.
There hasn't been a single one I'd be willing to play. Even if someone paid me to play the games, I'd have to think about it and THEN decline. It isn't worth even trying to download any of them on my internet. So a subscription to PlayStation Plus is a complete waste of time for me right now. When I first got my PS4 and was playing multiplayer a little, that was fine. But when I'm playing better games like Fallout 4, Batman Arkham Knight etc... waste of time. So when it runs out in November, I'm not going to subscribe again until ME:A. It's not like I have any free games to worry about losing, because they're all ****.

Nah, hype is the right word. Reviewers and those who have played it act like it's the best game in existence and ignore the fact that the gameplay is subpar. If you try to point it out, well you just don't know what a masterpiece is ![]()

I don't find PS Plus to be a total waste of time; just mostly. They have released good games in the past (like Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeros) and release some fun ones. I'd be lying if I said the quality of games hasn't been a huge disappointment. This month's Table Top Racing is really fun though! Keep it mind it's quite glitchy... such a shame. Sony can at least release games that aren't glitchy. Tropico 5 is pretty fun too, but a lot harder than I expected ![]()

I saw "overhyped" and assumed it was referring to Destiny.
Maybe by the time I get a next gen console they'll have enough DLC to resemble the start of a story.
I'm still laughing at everyone who dumped ME3 for that though. Man, you guys got hosed.

Yeah, the 'finished' version is a step up, although many of your points would still be applicable to you. But there must be some significance to the fact that I've played it so much more on PS4, beyond trying to extract worth from the semi-redundant machine. The dlc does add another level of depth to Ellie's character, and is enjoyable, but not essential. I think it's the same as the remastered Uncharted games in that there is an additional level of difficulty, but if so it's the one I've yet to try. As for all the other points, those are, as usual when we're discussing things, simply different personal perspectives. I enjoy TLOU so much because I think it's a well thought out, fairly realistic depiction of a post-disaster civilization. Sure, the mutants are pure fantasy gaming zombie fare, but the depiction of the uninfected humans apparently resonates more with me than it does you. Sometimes cliches are cliches for the reason that they're true. The simple puzzle solving in a realistic scenario works much better for me than the likes of the brilliant ACII-style puzzles would. I also find the relative absence of 'space magic' to be impressive, and the 'treasure hunting/scavenging' is also done in a way I find less annoying than most games.
As for Akir's comeback, all I can say is I can't even imagine what is meant by 'subpar gameplay', and I've never bought a game based on a review. I pity anyone who ever has, because as far as I can tell they're all supposedly masterpieces. I wonder what other 'masterpiece' I'm missing? ![]()
I did actually bring my last sh!tpost back on topic, but I'm struggling to do it again. I got Ground Zeroes for 'free' to keep on Xbox, and paid £3 for it on sale on PS4. Good game, definitely, but it'd take more than that to get me subscribing again, and it was a long time ago. As I said, PS Now is beyond my internet's capabilities, but the price seems over the top anyway.

AC2 WAS brilliant, best story of the series. I've now gotten around to finishing the ones I enjoyed less, except AC1, which feels like a medieval Metal Gear Solid where you get lynched for anything but perfect stealth.
My opinion however, differs greatly from there. My favourite is actually Rogue, smoothest gameplay experience in the series. Despite a few glaring flaws (Powersliding sailing ships, anyone?). They FINALLY worked out the bugs in the "new" AC3 control system, so that as long as you are GUIDING and not forcing the main character, it works perfectly. It even handled collectibles SLIGHTLY better, there's one called "Prosperity" that increases resource and money gains. And no "find half of the hidden items to reveal the location of the other half" BS, most everything is revealed by Viewpoints (A few uncharted areas amounting in a small % remains "hidden")
The story is also the second best in the series, even if it is short. I'd rather Rogue's short story than Black Flag's 100hrs of failed eavesdrops. I think I read that Rogue was released on PS4 along with Unity and Chronicles? Also that Unity had about 8months of gamebreaking bugs before they sorted it out? And that Chronicles with an episodic money grab?
If they touched up Rogue for the PS4's hardware, they would be a worthy buy for me. I'd probably grudgingly buy Unity and Chronicles, knowing that I would be disappointed.
There we go again, me babbling about my poor tastes. No hard feelings to anybody who ignores me, I probably deserve it.

Oh, it's totally the second best by far, and totally worth playing. Black Flag was ridiculously easy, and Unity was a little harder, but they've got the balance right for combat. Wish I had Black Flag on the PS4 though, they should offer that on PlayStation Plus.
Anyway, yeah, it's a great game. Surprisingly not glitchy whatsoever. There's also a random portal to WWI which is awesome. ![]()
