Finally playing Trespasser and in general it's great.

However, I'm trying to free the dragon (poor dragon) and I seem to be in a loop of neverending.  I sort out  the rings, including exploding the blockage - I'm told I just need to open the gates. I then open the gate and I'm told I just need to sort the rings.  I've tried everything - making sure I've killed all the qunari, keeping all my party alive (or not) etc etc.

Is this a known bug and do I have to just start from a much earlier save?  Or am I missing something out.

I really want to save poor Ataashi, but I'm beginning to feel less sympathetic...

Any help gratefully received.

On one of the Fire Rings is a broken cart. You need to use your upgraded Mark on it to destroy it and then you can turn the outer ring to direct Ataashi towards the gate.

Have you tried to open both parts of the gate and see what happens? Or even after opening the gate companions speak about rings?

Did you turn all three rings? (just checking)

Also the Fire of the Rings needs to point toward the Gate.

 

IMO it's easier to turn the rings first and then open the gate, because the gate will close again after some time.

Hello - thanks so much for your replies

In the time since I wrote the first post x) I went right back to a save before the previous room.  It is indeed a bug.  I did exactly the same thing and I've not freed poor Ataashi!! Yay!!  Should have done that anyway really, shouldn't I?

I was just trapped in a loop of rings/gate/rings/gate.

I *might* have been because I played the previous room twice and on the second go, I skipped through some dialogue.  Think it might have glitched some things.

Anyway, all better now!

Again thanks for your responses - wasn't sure I'd get any since I'm so late to playing the dlc.

I was really confused by your post, until I figured out you must have meant now.
