This thread has a very... interesting perspective about what middle aged actually is. You do realise that it's between 45 and 65 years old, right? Anything less than that isn't middle aged, and is still young.

/cut

We are not hoping to live in this sad world that long. Therefore 30s and 40s is middle-aged. :D

In relation to the topic itself... I, personally, wouldn't romance anyone in a video game who was over 45 years old, and I wouldn't in real life (well, assuming that they were 45 at the beginning of the relationship. If I started a relationship with someone younger and they turned 45, that would be fine). Realistically, I'd draw the line at forty for both a video game and a reality, although someone between the ages of idk 26 and 38 would probably be the ideal age range for me in both instances.

Um...Michelle Pfeiffer, Jennifer Aniston? Age is largely just a number, people can vary widely on how they look and act at a certain age.

I bet Kahlee Sanders looks like sandpaper outside of the game.  No thanks.

Slightly irrelevant. The life expectancies of most countries are increasing, meaning that what is considered middle aged will only increase. Therefore, you sir are wrong. :P

Oh, trust me, I know that. I really do. Even though, at aged 19, I largely consider my ideal women in her thirties, there is so such thing as too old. I tend to draw the line at double my age. Before that is perfectly fine, and ideal, but I wouldn't ever go over double my age.

Middle age was always like the 50s to me. Even if not technically "middle" life span.

But it's when your hair is screwed (for many) and you go through a mid-life crisis apparently.

I actually agree. Middle age for me doesn't start until 50. 45-65 is just the official definition.

So in Dragon Age inquisition the two women romancible by men are both in their 30's (Casandra late 30's and Josephine mid 30's).  In Mass effect 2 I wouldn't age Miranda that young but even if you do Samara certainly isn't and in 3 you can also have Diana Allers (certainly looks old in the game).  In fact when you stop and think about it your point is mostly nonsense and probably just virtue signalling.  Most men prefer younger women, and most people who play these games are probably below 40, so its not surprising that there a bias towards younger female romances in these games.  (p.s. there isn't anything wrong with that... lets not get judgmental about it)

I thought Josephine was younger... didn't know that.

Younger than 40, but like I pointed out earlier..  the average gamer age is 31.

Apparently I'm an oddity. I find girls my age extremely immature and have no interest in them.

One thing that bothers me with the mods for DAO is the amount of 'young' Wynnes that are available.  Why are some gamers so bothered by her age?  They must be as they've been downloaded enough times.

I personally have the Wynne Redesigned mod, which keeps her old but makes her more glamorous, like her concept art.

So having an older LI would be awesome, I feel like a point needs to be proved to all those ppl using those bloody mods.  Older women can be hot, hell yes let us romance them.

And I'll be damned if 38 is considered middle aged.  Screw that.

If it is then I'll be chucking myself off a bridge in 5 years time.

Same, I'd have said Josie was around 30.  Must be the Disney dress.

Is there going to be a fat slob in his mid fourties as well? Beer gut and 3 chins? The ladies need eye candy too.

I think your opinion on "eye candy" is a little misguided.

Well no stereotype applies to all.. and I guess some of this does depend on your age, up to your mid 20's I guess most people date their own age.

I believe she is supposed to be about the same age as Leliana and she is mid 30's by the time of DAI

I think the fat slob in his mid 40s was already a fat slob in his teens.

Are you sure? Just a couple of years ago the majority of gamers were 30+.

Here's one study that says the average is 31. http://venturebeat.c...y-on-a-console/

Well... I'm not anywhere near thirty years old!

I didn't exactly mean it that way. lol

I just mean people who are in shape have mostly stayed that way. They may have some weight gain, but if they're a slob, it probably started sooner.

Dat signature though, it's like those huge neon advertisement boards. Does it have any particular meaning behind it?
