Shepard and Liara kissed in ME2 for some reason in one of my playthroughs, even though I didn't talk to her in ME1 the entire way through the game (other than what I had to). Was very weird. I checked my save game and it said I hadn't romanced anyone. I'm guessing that's an example of "ninjamanced".

I was romancing Kaidan with my female Shep in ME1 and the same thing happened to me, the game chose her as my romance lol, even though I hadn't really talked to her. Bioware do love their blue aliens.

I've never been ninjamanced either. I think it's probably easier if you're a paragon. Then you're picking those top options that encourage her nonsense, about Shepard being a symbol.

I hadn't even romanced anyone. Just turned up out of the blue, lol.
In ME3, she then started acting as if they were in a relationship and asked if they wanted to like continue it. I was like "there was NEVER anything. I've barely spoken to you" ![]()
I wasn't expecting it to happen... just like with the consort. The game just loves Asari too much.
Whether because of glitches or misleading conversation options, you're going to end up in some kind of relationship with an Asari. True story.

Killed at Virmire, hadn't spoken to him in the slightest. Not an issue.

Have you ever romanced an Asari before?
Maybe it only works on people who never have, to force them to.

I romanced her once, but well... Vakarian ![]()
I don't know, I kinda like Liara as a friend, maybe because I've never felt she was forced into me except that moment of infatuation I had in ME1

OWA, I'm sorry, I've run out of likes apparently (no idea how...), so you get an honorary like (called a Penguin point) until tomorrow.
So yes, I award you one Penguin Point.
Liara has kind of always been forced as a friend, to be honest. Which doesn't make much sense to me, but oh well.

It's always Kaidan that ninjamances me..
I've played Mass Effect as 20 times and I've never EVER been ninjaromanced by Liara. Even if you reject Kaidan...
I don't know about Kaidan, I only play broShep.

The writers have always been a little myopic about her.
Even before launch, there was a Drew K promo vid where he's all giddy, asking "who doesn't like alien space babes?!" or something like that. Like everyone came from the same world as him and it was all a given.
Funnily, I was just watching an old Eddie Murphy standup where he was making fun of Orion girl fans.
This has been going for awhile it seems. That was 1983.

You just have to avoid being nice to him at all. If you say something nice once he'll just assume you're flirting
. Seriously the ME1 system wasn't the best.

If you're looking for middle aged women to romance Cassandra from Dragon Age is available. According to her bio she's 38 years old and counting. I agree though, OP. I do hope the romance options for guys isn't some naive teenager-esque girl that somehow happens to wind up in the middle of the hero's story.
38 isn't middle aged. And Cass was one of those worst heteroy-only romances in the entire Bioware franchise in my honest opinion.

I'm just mad that she was basically one of only two choices. isn't it all about equality? My inquistor wanted a piece of lel but it couldn't happen. My inquistor wanted some of the witch morrigan. It was equal. Unless you happened to roll a female elf or human. Everyone else got two choices.
I mean waifu wars are fine and all, but man, I had some brief haterade for the elf players. WHAT ABOUT US DWARVES? JUST TWO, HUH? WELL, BAH I WON'T ROMANCE ANYONE. That'll show 'em.
granted I almost never do a romance on my first playthrough but it's the principle of the thing

Most people play as humans or elves first of all. Second of all, you are not elves or qunari, you are a human being in real life, it's a lot easier playing "pretend" to be an elves or a dwarves than roleplaying as your gender and romance either the opposite sex or the same sex. I would love to have an option to romance Cullen, as any of the race, even if I always play human first. Races don't matter as much as gender to me because races are just fantasy while gender and sexual orientation are real.

I went into DAI this time as a Qunari, fully intending to romancing Solas. What can I say? *dons voice of Drago from Rocky 4* "I wanted to break little man."
But then come to find out that you can't romance him unless you're an elven female. fml

Qunari suck anyways. Romance probs are the least of your concerns.
