Sell tons of preorder copies courtesy of some snazzy marketing.

Sell even more copies of the game by riding the hype train.

Bring out multiple paid Dlc's with main story content that should've been in the vanilla game but people will buy anyway because that how it is these days.

Set the path for a trilogy sequel, ride the hype train to making it a yearly cash cow.

PROFIT!

Don't be so cynical Teabaggin Krogan. I'm sure EA has our best interest at heart.

There is no going back to the home galaxy. Period. Forget any romantic ideas about defeating the Reapers. That ship sailed way back with the rainbow coloured endings and it's resulting fan fury. Bio will in no way hold that plasma hot potato in their hands, ever again.

As to Andromeda, my speculation, based on the leaks:

1.- This chapter deals with the colonization struggles.  This includes fighting off our enemies, search for new tech, find, colonize and

hold our new homes, meeting new aliens and making allies.

2.- The second chapter (ie: Andromeda 2), deals with a new and powerful threat.

3.- The third chapter is ending that threat.

Yeah, I think you're right. I'd be fine if they never went back to the MWG. I want BioWare to stay put now that they've made the decision to move.

You know, I would find it hilarious if our establishing shot of some colonization-marked planets were with a cutscene of our team planting an ARK flag or beacon and occasionally having one of the above scenarios play out in said cutscene depending on the planet.

Surveys mention finding a new home for the humankind. Do others races have their own delegates? I don't see them helping us out of goodwill. UNLESS we became the new Protheans, taking over other species, adding them to our "empire" and calling them all Human. Srsly wtf

Why does everyone think we are going to take people's home? We are civilized. Far more than the euros back in the day.

Um, guys? Are these pre-fab settlement structures built by the people who came over on the ark? Otherwise, wouldn't it be kind of silly to have structures that look a lot like Milky Way structures, with doors that can be opened as understood by the humans and species in the Milky Way - doors crafted by a completely alien species from a galaxy far away?

Wait till you see enemy aliens dropping thermal clips for us to use.

How convenient! :P

Luckily I think they're going back to the rechargeable mass effect 1 weapons.

I hope so but isn't the weapon on that leaked pic using thermal clips?

I see in the near future, each game taking place in a different cluster.  I would love for an interconnecting overarching story between each cluster (even if they do decide to go with a different protagonist -- like in the Dragon Age games).

My bad I read your comment wrong. I'm still pretty sure we're not gonna go in like savages and enslave the local population we are the good guys after all. Just because we are moving in doesn't make us the bad guys. It's a huge galaxy. Plenty of places to choose from.

Why are you asking us? If I told you Andromeda is actually a gate to the Dragon Age universe, would you believe me ?

Why would we assume a completely alien species we've never encountered before from another galaxy would even have the concept of a door as we understand it?

Because protheans, asari, salarians, quarians, and krogan, at least, did have doors as we understand them. I don't know about turians and drell, but it'd be kind of shocking if all the other bipeds in the galaxy had doors and they didn't.

So good.

There is nothing to stop Bioware from doing this.

Those weren't doors as we irl understand them. The mass effect doors, when we first encountered them, were our first encounters with mass effect doors and also different from....irl doors.

So yes humans could fit inside but for all we know the humans adopted that style of door after joining the galactic community.

Too true. For all we know a song or a stamp on the ground could open that weird looking eye in the middle of the wall or that stick in the ceiling. :D

This got me thinking about an amazing idea. If BioWare had been brave and more creative, they could've decided at an ending where the Reapers once again successfully completed the cycle, but where the ARK had been prepared (in some secret location) ever since the original Mass Effect.. it would set sail for Andromeda before the events of ME3. Shepard and his crew are heroes and they die like heroes, but the cycle couldn't be stopped (obviously). Now, the new trilogy takes place in the Andromeda Galaxy, where we have to find a way to survive and then prepare to return to the MWG in 49.500 years, in order to warn the existing cycle of the incoming calamity.

In the third trilogy, approximately 49.500 years later, we would finally return to the MWG with our new allies from Andromeda and then proceed to liberate it from synthetic control once and for all. Very ambitious, but this is Mass Effect, come on...

Would work. If we assume the Reapers for some reason, cannot travel to other galaxies.
