Sell tons of preorder copies courtesy of some snazzy marketing.
Sell even more copies of the game by riding the hype train.
Bring out multiple paid Dlc's with main story content that should've been in the vanilla game but people will buy anyway because that how it is these days.
Set the path for a trilogy sequel, ride the hype train to making it a yearly cash cow.
PROFIT!
Two edgy four me.
So this game has taken five painful years to make and now the franchise is just suddenly going to become a yearly cash cow. Because that's realistic.
Yawn.
We'll find out in early 2017!
Maybe
If the Bioware's long-term goal is meant - than making more money (MMM), what a f*** else?
I've figured all along that the Catalyst is probably wrong. Some of its operating premises were likely pre-programmed by the Leviathans, who don't exactly have the most objective point of view on these things, and its conclusions are seemingly based partly on observing organic-synthetic interactions only as they played out under the Leviathans' dominance over the galaxy. The Catalyst is a good example of what can go wrong if you create an AI with a great deal of knowledge but very little understanding.
We don't really know that much about the Reapers in terms of their programming, but the Catalyst is sentient, which means that it can question its origin and purpose. In fact, the Catalyst admits that its strategy is crude and that there has to be a better solution, hence why it had been working on synthesis. I don't think the Catalyst was wrong about the basic dynamic between organic and synthetic lifeforms. The general rule is that synthetic life will eventually grow beyond organic control and that the ensuing conflict will result in the destruction of organic civilizations.
However, there are probably exceptions to the rule. What's interesting to remember is that the development of strong AI was forbidden by law in the MWG. The Geth were out there, but we seemed to have things under control. With strict regulations on AI research and development, organic civilizations in Andromeda could probably avoid the Quarian fate.
The long-term goal is for BioWare to sucker their fans into buying a 6/10 3rd person shooter with a 0/10 single player story so they will make fat cash, 90% of which will go into the salariesof EA's management, the remaining 10% going into making an uninspired sequel whose only purpose is to milk more money.
Now that's just not fair.
The 3rd person shooter was at least a 7/10.
The best I can do is 6.5/10.Now that's just not fair.

What if I give you this gif of a dead Volus rolling down a ramp in ME3 MP?

I thought the shooter was pretty decent and is at least a 7 or 8 for me, which is why I'm still coming back to play the Mp after all these years.

¿So maybe the council made an "ark" just in case they were extreminated by Reapers, to save all Milky way life as possible, so they could later come back and re-popullate Milky Way after Reapers dissapear into slumber?
For EA to make piles of money.
Every work is for money. I dont care they do it for money as long as they give something great and dont turn it into a yearly copy-paste like sport, COD and anime games.

Do you speak Spanish?

Multiplayer DLC. That's basically been the long term goal of every Bioware game now.

Goal?
To be fun?
Fun / fun = fun out of fun?
Their goal is to give away free stuff?
They're like Santa.
Only if you're bad you don't get coal. You get the Volus Sentinel.

They're like Santa, if Santa only gave away lottery tickets.
But he'll sell you extra lottery tickets if none of the ones he gave you pay off, if you give him your credit card #...
Intentionally or not they more or less painted themselves into a corner with the ME3 endings. Now this is not the worst thing in the world becasue it does give an excuse for really fresh start in many ways. I think this first game is going to reestablish the vulnerability if the protagonist and his ilk. They may once again will have to prove themselves. Though the premise can be seen as rehashed it can still be a really good game if they execute things well and once again lay to their strengths, that being character and companion creation.
I think BioWare will be solid enough in the story department and will be very good in the companion department. My worry is one that has been brought up that being the overall game being a bit too close to DAI as far as 'here is a big world explore every corner' I do not mind the exploration part nor even the inevitable fetch quests but they just have to make them more imaginative and logical than DAI's.
I also have a concern about their level design. Parts of DAI were more annoying to me than any of the previous ME mako exploration foibles.
I'm also concerned about the MP aspect of the game. They are using the same engine as DAIMP did and though I liked parts of DAIMP quite a bit and have played it a lot, the performance issues and bugs were simply unacceptable.
