Absolutely NOT!

I sure hope BW does not look at a topic like this and the responses as input from the fan base.

I think Bioware stopped paying attention to this forum in 2012.

Twitter is the only place where the devs are active and occasionally interact with fans. To be fair, the main reason is probably just because there is a lot more people on Twitter, but I don't doubt that the fanboy echo chamber also makes it more appealing. There people are more likely to fawn over every tweet even when it is something inane and contains absolutely no information about the game being developed.

The average day on the Bioware Twitter feed...

Bioware dev: Oh man, if you guys could see what I just worked on. You're going to love it!

Bioware fan #1: OMG, my body is ready!

Bioware fan #2: Choo! Choo! All aboard the hype train!

As toxic and silly as the place can sometimes be, I don't think I could stomach the Twitter feed for long. I'll take the trolls and BSN grumpy cats over Twitter twits.

There are a lot of weird and toxic things on BSN, and I realize people laugh and chuckle when BSN is mentioned elsewhere, but to be honest I've also found the most intelligent, thorough and insightful analysis and discussions on the BSN also. They shouldn't have thrown the baby out with the bath water. If the mods prune out the worst, they should really pay attention to what we say here.

well that's just your opinion ma'am. I mean it is a mature game. I'm not saying oceans of blood but I'd like my omni blade to actually go through a person.

At least, it's not as bad as reddit, that place is like the second tumblr for most of the pages. You disagree with them and they dislike you like 30 times and then report you. They can't even handle people like different stuffs from them.

Depends on the subreddit. If it's a cesspool like SRS or BestOfOutrageCulture then yeah, they condemn the wrongthink pretty harshly, but most that I visit are fine with dissenting opinions so long as you aren't an obvious troll out to antagonize people and fish for reactions.

No way! I used to love the Mass Effect games to pieces and they helped me through a difficult part of my life, but more gore would just be too much. I love adult games as much as the next girl, but gore is horrible! Sex, drugs and bad language I can handle, but no more blood please! x

I would not be in favor of more gore. Given the advanced technologies of the time it would make more sense for combat to be clean and efficient. At least from a human perspective. If we happen to run into a particularly brutal alien species that design their weapons specifically for gory outcomes, either because their style revolves around intimidation or sadism is a cultural quirk, then perhaps. As long as it is well done and doesn't reflect the general direction of all combat in the game.

There's toxicity guaranteed on any forum or site where people can post opinions on a product or piece of media.

In BSN's defense, amidst the quaint randomness and endless speculative Andromeda threads, I've found the site to have good discussions and debates that usually go off topic but that's natural and shouldn't always end with a thread lock, if its still talking about Andromeda or games or Mass Effect. If things start getting to gif-y or insult hurling commences, then lock away.

And for the most part, based on the folks who post here, its good to see that for the most part, the Mass Effect fanbase are more maturer and thoughtful and accepting than those who post on other gaming forums I'd rather not mention in case anyone holds said games in high esteem...  ;)

I agree, there are certain places that are more rabid than the others and depending on the pages and games you play as well. For example, I play Stardew Valley, and sometimes just go there since the developer is active there. Even saying something bad about their husbando, Sebastian, or any of the waifu and you will see like 20 dislikes. People can't handle those who like different things than they do or even say something bad about things they dislike. Most people on here has at least a thicker skin in general. I think it's mostly just the pages on casual games that are not catered toward typical gamers.

There is no such thing as clean combat. No offense but you don't know much about war and fighting do you? It doesn't matter on technology, we all bleed the same.

Head explosions are enough. It's very satisfying when a head explodes but blowing off limbs and stuff? I could take it or leave it.

However, the most satisfying head explosion HAS to be in Conker's Bad Fur Day (or rather the Xbox remake in Live and Reloaded). Massive heads, huge explosion of blood, epic sound effects of brains splattering the ground.

What I'd be for with both hands - is not more gore, but more realistic gore (exactly heads exploding are a bit over the top IMO - heads do not explode that way, without leaving a trace on it's place - at least human ones). Crippled or even severed (Dead Space-like) limbs - could be welcome, at least as a switchable option.

There is a difference between clean and efficient combat and "clean" combat.  ;)

And I don't think someone that wants to fight close combat with a bladed weapon, in a world where most aliens are either better (bigger, faster, smarter) at it or has a weapon that can make a lot of holes in you before you get close, should talk about how war works.

it's a game chill. Not talkin about melee only. Just saying that it's never going away. Don't patronize me.

I would like to see enemies with crippled limbs - like, when you shot guy in the legs he starts crawling or if you shot him in the arm he drops his main weapon and starts using his pistol... things like this.

Also, enemies could surrender or running away (for regroup) when we kill more than half of their squad...  that also would be nice.

That would be cool, but I have yet to see a game handle enemies surrendering well

What? is it a game? no way!   It was you that started patronize in that case.

What is not going away? gore? game? war? death? not that it has anything with peoples preferences.

But now am I "chill", so you don't need to worry.  ;)

It is funny in how in just about every shooter, enemy NPCs aren't affected by the bodies piling around them and always fight to the last man.

It would be nice if the gameplay was a bit more realistic in having morale be a major factor, with the enemy retreating or surrendering after having taken a certain amount of casualties.

I imagine it would be harder to implement in a way that still kept gameplay entertaining though, which probably has something to do with why enemy mooks always behave like emotionless automatons who have no fear of death.
