I can't really express how much I loved these books and can't believe it took me so long to find them.
How about favorite Books?

When Women Were Warriors has been in my backlog for a while, it sounds right up my alley.
Unsurprisingly fantasy and science-fiction are my favorite genres, with historical fiction (and straight-up history) a distant third. The new Guy Gavriel Kay coming out tomorrow has me excited, though it'll probably be a few weeks before I have time to read it. His books are best described as 'historical fantasy', and his settings are usually inspired by Mediterranean countries in the Middle Ages/Renaissance (he also has a couple of books on Tang China). Tigana is probably my favorite stand-alone fantasy novel.
When it comes to fantasy series, Robin Hobb's Realm of the Elderlings is my favorite by far. The series is made up of 4 trilogies and 1 tetralogy (Farseer, Liveship Traders, Tawny Man, Rain Wild Chronicles and The Fitz and the Fool). Farseer and every other trilogy is first-person POV with Fitz as the main protagonist, the others have multiple POVs. Hobb's characters are the best in SFF for me, but she really likes to make them suffer so it can get depressing at times.

Great thread, Dani! I was hoping someone else would do one of these. ![]()
I won't even try to make a list for this one, because that would be actually insane.
I recently re-read Watership Down for the 40th time, and I still love it. Right before that, I re-read Will Grayson, Will Grayson for only the third time (John Green
), and I'm reading Gone Girl right now for the first time. It's kind of freaking me out.

I don't read enough, but the last novel that left a strong impression was Neuromancer by William Gibson. It's the genesis for Cyberpunk. While I'm not sure I actually enjoyed it that much I remember it vividly. Also Molly* was cool, though maybe not a great character.

The book series is only available on Kindle, I believe. I read them with a kindle app on my tablet.
What can I say I have a weak spot for best friends that are wolves. Not the best written books but damn, Leo is so cool.

Now i'm in the mood to re-read Watership down. I just need to try and work out where my copy is.
There's obvious things like LOTR or SOIAF but a book i've re-read countless times is Terry Pratchett's moving pictures.

Just found a copy of the Count of Monte Cristo in my work canteen library. That book blew me away when i first read my local library copy(though it made me hate the films that butchered the story). Now my to read list has expanded.

My favourite book is Lord of the Rings, by Tolkien, you may have heard of him. Recently though i have been reading The Ables by Jeremy Scott. He is the voice of Cinemasins if you've ever watched that show on Youtube. It is a brilliant book actually, reminds me a lot of the first Harry Potter, only better. It's a mix between HP and X-men, a good read, check it out. If you like his voice he is also the voice on It's audio-book over at Audible.

My favorite book of all time is probably Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis. It's an unusual take on the Eros and Psyche myth, from the perspective of one of Psyche's sisters.
