I saw a post going around tumblr, recently, that Cass would be the real protagonist, say like in a novel, if the game didn't have to cater to customizable classes/sexes/races. She says she's not suited for the role of Inquisitor if you ask her, but then if the option comes up, she'll take over as Divine to lead the whole Chantry. So she can lead if necessary.

As someone who has a young Cassandra Inquisitor playthrough, I can confirm that. :)

yeah that's why I said in my post that I consider her technically the Inquisitor's second in command in that if anything hsppened to the quizzy and they couldn't continue by th efac tthey died or something then Cassandra would take over.

I do too, but it's funny how Cullen dismisses her so easily after Haven.. when they're all fighting.

Didn't she recruit him? :D

Yes she did I believe she says so in party banter the only one sh edidn't recruit was Josephine as Leliana recruited her mostly because they were old friends from the Orlesian court.

It makes quite a bit of sense. My girlfriend and I talked recently after the game came out that it would have been interesting if you would either play as Cullen or Cassandra if it wasn't an RPG.

I don't think they always do, but... why not?

They don't really. There's only been three fighter chicks in Dragon Age: Aveline, Cassandra and Ariane. (Well, and Shale, sorta.) Every other woman is a mage or a rogue.
