Dear EA,

I would appreciate if you can adjust your marketing and pricing strategies for the ME series.

I was disappointed when I bought ME 1, 2 and 3 to find out after doing the purchase that I still have to spend twice more to play the game without missing all the DLCs and unlocks. I like to pay only once with discounted price and enjoy everything!

I didn't buy Bioware points for ME 2 when it was too late when I discovered that not everything was covered and Steam client didn't show me that there were additional DLCs that I had to buy separately.

I mean , it is obvious that we will pay 30$ to unlock most critical features or missions of a game. Why didn't you come straight ahead and made a full package with that price, so I could have predicted it without spoiling the game experience for me?

I know that if you put the real price, people will be hesitant to buy , but this is a bad marketing strategy to make people pay money to think they obtained the game with all the features labeled as " Digital Edition" or "Deluxe Edition" ,etc... I felt deceived.

Your pricing for Dragon Age Origins was good. I paid once and I got additional DLCs for free. This was a good deal.

Let us pay once , do not confuse us and ruin our gaming experience.

Thank you

Geroy

Update to my post:

I'm an adult and businessman . I barely have time to remember my family to remember that I have to google for additional DLCs that i'm not aware of.

Come to think of it, why don't we make that competition into a thing?

Bad attitude bro. Might want to get that looked at.

To OP: you get what you pay for. If you're so concerned about price, wait a few months after release and see if the price drops. Also DLCs are bonuses to fans that want experience a little more of the universe created by the developer. This costs time and money and I wouldn't mind paying for it as long as they keep adding more to keep my story alive. Best of luck bro

I mean, it's not like we have anything else to do around here until BioWare gives us more information.

That might finally convince the moderators to create an off topic forum.

How were you deceived? Did anybody tell you that you were getting DLCs?

(I figured we needed an on-topic post.)

Somebody else should get us started.

I brought mod wrath down upon me last time I tried to be silly in thread creation.

I'm apparently not allowed to be silly =(

Alan, I assume you might be working for EA. I'm not attacking you or EA , but the idea is that it is clearly a marketing strategy to make people buy thinking it is cheap and later they get intrigued to pay more money which I'm not against , but I just think this is not a nice marketing strategy.

They could just make a whole package ,and I don't mind paying 2 times the price really.

$60 USD for base game, deluxe edition will be $70USD.

All DLCs will be around $20USD since Bioware is greedy. Expect to get fukt if you're Canadian or an Aussie.

but you're already paying more money in both cases.

Also, marketing isn't about being nice =P

You shouldn't believe just the marketing. You should always do more research before buying anything. This doesn't just apply to video games.

This is usually possible if you fee like waiting for a couple years after a game is out.

There seems to be a new trend with these season pass things offered up that cover the cost of games and dlcs for a select time  (possibly a bit of a scam)

Another major factor is that the game company often has no idea if they are going to do dlc (even if they have planned for it) until shortly after game release.

I paid $19.99 for DAO Ultimate Edition. It had everything.

In March, I bought a ps4. Then I bought the game of the year edition for DAI for $39.99. It contained everything

I'm sure a year after Andromeda has been released, it would have some special edition for whatever price if you're willing to wait that long.

Get the game of the year version later. If it bothers you so much.

This was pretty much Bioware's rationale for not having a season pass for DAI. They didnt want to commit to a set amount of DLC content.

We cannot be sure if there is going to have one for mass effect andromeda, dragon age origins had an ultimate edition and then every bioware game after that did not got one until 5 years later with dragon age inquisition.

That is an incorrect assumption; it strikes me as being extraordinarily silly, in fact. However, it's sort of on-topic, since I did ask how you made your other assumption.

But you didn't actually answer the question. How did you manage to come up with such a wrong assumption? If the package included DLCs, wouldn't it have mentioned including them? Do you usually buy stuff without reading the description?

If that's the case, the person can wait for the price to drop for the main game and buy the dlc's separate

That's exactly what I usually do. I also don't feel compelled to buy every single DLC. I don't buy most of the armor packs and I outright skipped Omega. Give it some time and others will have good (I.e non "gaming news" sites) reviews that are honest.

My only suggestion to the OP is to hold tight and wait. Not only can you get the game and possibly DLCs on sale if you what some (which I did with ME1-ME3,) but this also gives the devs some time to patch. I'm not sure if you were around, but the patch cycle for DA:I was pretty crazy those first few months.
