I think kinetic powers can be developed even further and instead of just pushing the enemies in the air, they could be used to twist and deform or even to explode a body to add a bit of gore and drama.

What do you think?

So in other words, a new, gruesome way to kill people?

I support this motion.

No offense, but this is the 3rd pro-gore thread started in the last 24 hours.

We already have a thread about more gore.

My opinion there was that I don't see the appeal in adding more and more gore because it just gets cartoonish in appearance, which doesn't fit for a game like Mass Effect that's trying to take itself seriously.

My opinion hasn't changed since that thread =P

I don't think it would be wise to make Biotics any more than external blunt force/gravitational attacks. Once we can twist bones or organs from the inside, we'll be wondering why we can't just have a "Biotic Aneurysm" attack.

You'll have to be satisfied with ripping someone apart at the molecular level.

Or in addition to biotic explosions, there could be funny effects. Example:
Push + lash would rip enemy in half

But honestly I don't want too much gore if it would replace other items that I find more important; story, content, combat mechanics including AI.

So everyone's just trying to get in the right mood?

How many gore discussions do we really need?

Can't all these ideas about new and gruesome ways to kill enemy mooks, be contained in one cesspit thread? Is this edgelord week on the BSN?

Seeing how BSN operates lately, I doubt it.

Gratuitous blood and gore are just too comical and silly for ME, imo. Also our PC would be court-martialed for war crimes against indigenous aliens.

In a game like Mass Effect gore should be used in a meaningful way on a key scene, not for every shotgun blast. That's my opinion.

Is it just me, or is it whenever something new, exciting or likable in a new videogame crops up, some people want that feature in every future game even if it might not necessarily fit? There's nothing wrong with other developers and studios being inspired when something new and groundbreaking comes along, or tries to up their own levels of quality, but specific key features, if done well in other games, should stay there. Do we need Dead Space level of gore in a Mass Effect game when we've never really had that level of gore before?

I'm aware this is likely a troll or bait thread, and i've already responded on the other gore thread, i just notice a lot of similar stuff whenever a lauded game comes out like Witcher or Fallout, some people are like "BioWare put WItcher and Fallout stuff in Andromeda"!!!

Now it would appear Doom should be in Andromeda too

Yep, many people want all the features they want in other games combined into the one the like.  Then of course BioWare is simply copying other studios and then will get raked over the coals for pandering to "x" crowd.

I once wrote a fanfiction where an Asari used a warp on this guy's helmet which then twisted and squashed his skull inside.

Come to think of it, I remember in Mass Effect Revelations, Drew was slightly graphic in the descriptions of wounds sustained in firefights. Some of them were gory, though that depends on how one would imagine a person being "turned to hamburger"...

Maybe Drew was thinking about lunch as he wrote that part.

He must've gotten hungry through Ascension too, I swear some mercs ended up being like a regurgitated Big Mac a la Drew's sophisticated descriptions

I'll be damned if we would get more detailed gore and no Chemrail gun.
