Bees are fun. I remember one forum user saying they turned on friendly fire and threw bees at Solas during the Corypheus fight. They had romanced Solas. Best use of bees.
Anybody else LOVE Jars of Bees?

The jar of bees makes me wonder......how are they made? Because I might feel a twinge of guilt if every time I bring in the materials, some poor scout has to go out, find some bees, and capture them in a bottle.
....Do we have an apiary in Skyhold?
Ha! That would be a **** job. But no, there's a supplier.
"We have received weapon plans and located an apiary to supply us. When the idea was presented, the beekeeper tented his fingers and sneered, 'Of course!' Quite disturbing."

Is it just me or do they do considerable damage as well? Like I don't think they just rile them up
They definitely do a lot of damage. My drop time (I arrive X how long I kill everything) spikes big time. The higher level dragons REALLY dont like them and I noticed it causes said dragons to jump around a lot more.

I really should use them more often.....
As is, I only use confusion grenades--and that's it. I really need to wean myself off the "no grenade" playstyle. Don't know why its prominent with me, but now I'm fairly certain I've been gimping myself in Nightmare mode because of it.

Of course, who doesn't love Jar of Bees? They do stupid amounts of damage for such a simple grenade.

All my toons have them and Ive maxed out the upgrades. They REALLY ****** off the dragons, Ive noticed. They start jumping around like a hot tamale. Kind of like, seriously, your brought BEES to this fight? BEES?!?! Great for burning down armor, Ive noticed. Its like a Power Pooh Grenade.
I loved using it on dragons

In Trespasser if you find all the dog treats you get a weapon that does jar of bees when you use it. I couldn't figure it out at first why all these insects were buzzing around people I was attacking. But it is very helpful.
what? oh, lol. i gotta try that one of these days. sounds great.

I love the Jar of Bees! And not just in game. I use it as a metaphor from time to time. Walk into a room full of my conservative relatives, make a loud declaration about climate change, then run away? I just threw a Jar 'o Bees.

I only have ONE problem with the frigging Jar of Bees. Ingame that is, offgame I wish they only used wasps and hornets since they don't have barbed stingers and can sting repeatedly and not die. More efficient. Bees die the poor sods... *schneef*
Aaanyhoot the ingame caveat: I HAVE TO PICK A GAXIZILLIARD BLOODLOTUSES! *heave gasp*
I hate running for hours around that small lake in the Hinterlands just to make more Jar of Bees... Especially since it takes a lot to upgrade'em aswell... Damnitall...
The upgrade bit is okey I guess, but I have to pick more everytime I want new frigging grenades.... Wonder why Healing pots are free and grenades are not? *ingame reason, not gamplay reason*
Bah! Humbug!

It's called Cudgel of the Gold and Ebon Queen, it is a mace. The end looks like a beehive. It says a "chance" to inflict Bees! on hit but I found in a fight it pretty much always does it at some point. And you can upgrade it. A nice useful item in so many ways.

I buy them at the Crossroads Merchant for like 20 gold a piece or something. Much faster. I got a whole vault full of gold back at Skyhold, I can buy 100 blood lotus blossoms and it doesn't make a dent.I only have ONE problem with the frigging Jar of Bees. I just pick them whenever I go to the Hinterlands or the Oasis, and the Western Approach spring. Also, I spend the first 2/3 of the game growing them in the garden. Last, select the "pick more plants" perk to get bunches at a time instead of just 1. Too bad that perk doesn't work with the garden pots.
Or, as PapaCharlie says, you can just buy them. ![]()
