But they are at least promising it will confirm to the latest consoles, and not bend over backwards for the last generation also, so that's an improvement on DA:I.

Yeah... and I kind of count Vivienne also. I'm a little suspicious why Vivienne couldn't be romanced, and why her side content was a wyvern heart fetch quest and nothing else.
Probably just resources, I know, but she was just so.... so under-utilized. Especially at Val Royeaux. She didn't do anything in the court! And wore that red jumpsuit!
<<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>>
Interesting you should point that out. She was "heavily" promoted and yet underutilized at Val Royeaux. Blame it on the Word Budget assignments because the char development focus was elsewhere?

That's actually true. This was likely the best situation to start making the PC have multiple race options. I think it's unlikely there'll be another opportunity as good, though there's still a chance they might change their mind for a future game.
I have to say though that I never had high hopes that they'll follow the multiple race options for ME.
<<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>>
Bet you Bio internal metrics (via Origin) showed them that offering multiple race choices, as the PC, was not worth the cost. In a sense, DA:I was an experiment.
Most, here, are dying for more ME:A info. They want to buy the game knowing it's a human centric story and the PC human. With that ardent demand evident, why, offer more race choices at higher costs? Limits in one area may open up opportunities elsewhere... like character development for the squad team, more romance options, better NPC side quest reasons or even weave a story with multiple path solutions.

at least we have them in multiplayer. I get why people want it but hey, maybe they'll make a spin-off game.
It's not the same. Multiplayer doesn't have a campaign, let alone an interactive campaign like singleplayer.

Yeah, this pretty much dashed my hopes that we'll ever get the option. Like let's assume this is a trilogy, meaning it will be a decade before the opportunity ever presents itself again. Quite frankly I don't know if they'll continue with Mass Effect after that. This series will forever be one that had great potential, but squandered it because "Humanity is Superspecialawesome!".

And the majority liked that race options were brought back and in Inquisition. It was worth the cost then, and it is now. It was literally brought back because of fan demand. But no, they have to listen to the people who want yet more human-centric ego-stroking nonsense.

So, I anticipate a 2:40 sec new Mass Effect Andromeda teaser trailer. One, with better graphics resolution, better colour intensity than the first one, if for no other reason than to compete with BF1. The marketing department will embellish the cinema like trailer with lots of oomph!
I expect another race to be shown, the Mako again, large vistas and possible destructive terrain. Also, a combat sequence or two.
Anyone here care to speculate?

The fifteen first seconds of the trailer will answer our questions about the context of our leaving: What moment it is? And why we leave?
I don't think they will go to the DAI route and they will not show any face or gendered protagonist. Maybe they go all DA2 and show the two main protagonists (male and female). They are white, as always ¬¬
They show us the blonde woman and the krogan companion.
I agree with you about the new alien race, the Mako, vistas and one or two sequences of combat.

You can make a non-white character and there are always multiple non-white characters in every Bioware game. Please don't be upset that a game studio made up of mostly white people in a mostly white populated country markets their games with white people on the cover. (they didn't even do that in DA:I, it was a generic dude in full armor) They're clearly not ignoring people of color.
More than likely, the characters will be completely armored up anyway so you won't even have to worry about it.

Nah, I get that. It's just I think it could be so cool if the next iconic face of a franchise is a asian guy and a Latina woman
My favourite Shepard is mixed asian (because make a full asian in Mass Effect is the most difficult thing ever!!).
But I get it. A completely armored PC probably is a good alternative for that matter, but in that case I personally prefer a white dude with expresion in his face in the trailer. The bad thing about dark tainted helmets it feels a little unhuman to me (not knowing or not grasping what is happening in someone's head).

I'd prefer nothing. That's one good thing about DA:I's marketing is they never conveyed an 'iconic' face for the Inquisitor. Whenever they showed 'you' in the trailers, it was a guy in a mask that covered most of his face. It makes it feel like an empty spot for you to casually slip into and...well, roleplay. A completely armored male or female means the character can be anybody, not just a white guy or woman. Because obviously in gameplay not everybody is going to play with helmets on all the time, it's just used to conceal the player characters in the trailers.

I feel that way works with Dragon Age because each game has a different main character. But if they went as a trilogy (please, pretty pleaaaseee), I think it works better to have an iconic face on it (however, as a primarily femShep player, it is true that I felt femSheps were more universal to me because they lack of an iconic face until the last game).
At this point, I'm just begging for the damn trailer in june! ![]()

Speak for yourself. When I upgrade my GPU in a month or two, my system will be an Xbox 3. Would that I could enjoy that. But everyone's optimizing their games for circa 2009 hardware.
Eventually, consoles will stop being gimpy, locked down PCs and they'll just be PCs. And folks will come around to the fact that if you can put together an erector set, you can upgrade your PC.

The Shinobi dude released new info about ME:A:
"More than fine, they’re well on track from what I’m told. The game’s playable from beginning to end. The delay is only by a few months for extra polish and there really hasn’t been any management changes. Chris Wynn was a senior development director and not really in charge of creative ideas, and he was only on the team for about 18 months. Schlerf was lead writer and his role was pretty much done before he left. They’ve brought on some good talent in the meantime too, including from Naughty Dog.
Having seen a decent chunk of gameplay in action, I think people are going to love what they see. It looks amazing.
It’s a huge step up from DAI though, some things are comparable to Battlefront, and Bioware’s implemented things in Frostbite 3 that even DICE hadn’t yet, so they’re no slouch in the technical department. The explorable spaces in Andromeda are massive so it’s hard to compare directly to Battlefield.
Character models look incredible. Animations are a huge upgrade too.
Yea they’re specifically trying to address the repeating animations in the last trilogy. It’s really to do with the limited memory of old gen. They’ve implemented a lot of new techniques for Andromeda.
And I was mostly talking about facial animation too. It’s a huge step up. Pleasantly surprised.
Like I said in the other thread, I saw as many things to do and discover in one planet here as I did the whole lot of side planets on ME1 lol. The Mako is fast, hence the big environments.
No idea, but I will say the music was very reminiscent of the original Mass Effect. I immediately thought of ME1 when I heard it. So good.
In fact from everything I saw, all I could think of was “This is what Mass Effect 1 was envisioned to be.”

I'm a little lazy here but i'm pretty positive this is just the full variation of the other update provided a couple pages back. Reading it in it's entirety, i keeping thinking they're going to make MEA a Halo with faces. I mean, Halo's great, especially the early ones, but i want customization, especially character customization, and this update mentions nothing about customization. bleh.

I wouldn't know how many liked the news, but many were happy about it here, and from what I saw on twitter. A more accurate data is likely on Bioware's hands.
It should be noted though that wanting races back in DA doesn't mean a person wants them necessarily in ME. On this very topic, I really wanted them back in DA (regardless of how I feel on the execution), but I'm more in the middle for ME, I'm fine with either approach in this IP.

The issue with this is that for all the good things about PC and the ability to continually upgrade there are bad things as well. Older pcs can hold back performance for newer pcs as mcuh as consoles. Also as a person who played pc for years and years and is now more console oriented now I really do not miss the fact that I had to upgrade my pc every so often to play the newer games. You do have to upgrade consoles but certainly not as often. (And I think you underestimate the number of people who do not want or like to poke around in their pcs to upgrade.)

This number of people willing to poke and prod around their PC's is dwindling simply because the age of the generation that did poke and prod with their PC's is getting older. Older people don't have the time or the energy to do this kind'a thing. They'd just rather pay someone to do it for them.

An Update on Mass Effect: Andromeda
By Aaryn Flynn, General Manager of BioWare
With Mass Effect™: Andromeda, our team at BioWare™ is exploring how far they can take this beloved franchise...we'’re also excited to be introducing new features and ways you can enjoy a Mass Effect game.
• The Next Great Mass Effect Experience: We’re pushing the technology to deliver visuals, story, and gameplay that have never been done in franchise history.
Hi Aaryn,
When can we learn about the PC system and graphics card specs for ME:A, plus Win 7/8/10 and DX11/12 support?
I'd like to hear about these at E3 in June. Thanks.

Yeah I can't do the plugging in new components and all that but that's moer down to my diasbility than no tknowing how to. But I do know how to and can program a PC though as in facvt spent most of today doing it as my PC's been down today due to a virus fortunately I have fixed it but I'm now in the process of restoring my games starting with DAI as I started a playthrough of that last night before things went bad so I'm hoping I can continue and resurrect it. Fortunastely I only did the prologue so it probably won't matter too much if I can't
