So, what about a full-blown melee combat system?

I'd snipe those melee fighters from extreme range.

But what if they were tactical cloaked and ambushed you in close-quarters? Of course we're not gonna have simply guys with sticks running towards you lol.

From the games I saw - the WH40K Eternal Crusade currently has pretty good melee model - already at this stage.

good. So I can charge into you and demolish you with my superior fighting abilities. Sweet. Sniper don't work so well in close quarters.

A lesson painfully learned by every Cerberus Sniper I encountered throughout ME3.

Then, as soon as they appeared, I'd take 2 steps back, pause-to-aim, and shoot them in the face.

Also, if there's a tactical cloak option, I'd be in it all the time.

It does with pause-to-aim.

Oh, wait, were you talking about multiplayer? I try never to think about multiplayer.

If I remember right, in Mass Effect 3 you can't pause and aim while scoped. If you fire unscoped you suffer a severe damage penalty.

Also, thinking Tactical Cloak is actually going to make you completely invisible to the AI? Rookie mistake, man =P

Doesn't matter. With my vaguard charge i'll pierce the heavens.

or kill myself tumbling down a conveniently placed flight of stairs at 300km per hr.

That's true.

Still better than aiming in real-time.

It doesn't make them completely invisible to me. Why would it make me invisible to them?

Nothing makes you completely invisible to the enemy.

Not even being behind a solid brick wall does that. They cheat to automatically know your location.

In my game the only way I make enemies stop seeing me is by slayin' 'em with me Charge 'n' Shotgun.

I'm not very fond of shooters either, if ME didn't have RPG elements I would have never touched it.

If ME A has another sparring scene like the one with Vega and Shepard they better have the right choreographers and mocap specialists. Take inspiration from martial arts systems like army combatives, MCMAP, Jeet Kune Do, Kali Silat, etc. Take inspiration from actual martial artists. If Ryder or whoever is the hero Bioware claims he or she is and including the fact that they're N7 they are probably going to be superior hand to hand combatants and marksmen.Take inspiration from actual Navy Seals or SWAT operatives. Many train in martial arts on a regular basis. My point is that there are going to be enemies that need killing whether it be by gun or omni blade, knife or hand. Consult real experts, military or law enforcement. But I'm assuming Bioware is full of very intelligent individuals who have already planned ahead. Keeping my fingers crossed. And enough with the telegraphing of strikes. I probably could have beat Shepard. I want Ryder to be more like thane. They did it right with him. Bad@$$! Then again Aaron Flynn promised better animations so I have no doubt.

Ye boi. I wanna be Artorias in space.

Just don't go full on weeaboo space ninja mode like a frail 4ft Phantom oneshotting a 12ft Warlord with a kitchen knife. Lore should heavily be implied.

I'm sure they'll be a lot better this time around. And besides I wouldn't mind kicking around enemies and call my guy Jean Claude Ryder.
